Colesma Smart Watch

Thank you Amazon Vine for sending us this product to review!

I have spent almost one month with the Colesma Smart Watch, and I’m elated to share my thoughts and observations. For a little over a year and a half, I used the Garmin Vivosmart 4. It was very useful and reliable until the battery began to expand and I had to stop using it, but even so, I will be making some comparisons here and there. For instance, that was a popular brand product, and now – though a few years old – sells for around $100-120 online from various sources, while the Colesma Smart Watch appears to be an imitation of the Apple watch. I have only managed to find it on Amazon, and it’s listed currently for $46.99 along with a 10% off coupon (woo-hoo!). Although there are hundreds of similar products of this nature, I will be exploring Colesma’s adaptation and the lovely features it provides the user.

As the page advertises, this is a fitness tracker intended to help the user live a more active lifestyle. But like any watch or piece of technology, upon receiving it it is ideal to fully charge before using. The package includes the watch face itself, two different wrist bands (one rubbery-plastic band, the other flexible stainless steel), a small instruction booklet written in a variety of languages, a shortened version on a piece of card stalk for those of a simple mindset like myself, and the unique magnetic charging cable. In order to utilize many of the watch’s functions, the user must download the Da Fit app and pair it to his or her phone through Bluetooth. I learned that it also had to be paired within the app as well.

The app allows lots of customizations. To start, I – though it took several tries – changed my watch face to a funny picture of my boyfriend. Colesma’s flexibility in personalization impressed me, as there are likely hundreds of different custom watch faces available within the app. If the user chooses to implement one, it downloads to the watch, and I recently discovered that I can change my watch background from the device itself by holding my finger on the home screen, which I thought was neat.

On the side of the device resides a small black button with a red circle (not sure why the red is there). Pressing this button wakes it up. Swiping up allows me to see any notifications from my phone that I allowed my watch to read. At the bottom is a “Clear All” button, removing them all off my screen. For some reason, notifications on my watch don’t clear on their own even if I viewed them already on my phone. Unlike my Vivosmart 4, I am unable to respond to text messages or anything of that nature, nor can I clear individual notifications. If there is nothing for me to see, it will say “No notice.”

Swiping to the right will lead to a scrolling menu of shortcuts to the daily data that can also be accessed individually by swiping to the left of the home screen until the user reaches the slide they want to view. These features allow the user to quickly view their step count, amount of sleep the previous night, heart rate (measured upon request), training sessions (timed workouts), phone features (make/accept calls), blood pressure (measured upon request), SPO2 (measured upon request), weather forecast, notifications, shutter (opens the camera app on the user’s phone), music controls (can pause or skip songs), breathing agent (stress relieving activity), and set a stopwatch, alarm, or countdown. Several of those mentioned, when accessing their dedicated page by scrolling down, record the daily averages in a graph that displays the weekly data for that particular widget. With the features that measure on command, the graph documents the seven different readings in order for comparison.

I have found the device’s fitness features to be rather accurate and reliable. Personally, I believe it has the potential to inspire the user to adopt a healthier lifestyle; I have come to appreciate its reminders to drink water every few hours and get up if I’m in one place for too long. However, it has its own flaws that I can’t wait to bring to light. First, I’d like to complain about the fact that 6 out of 10 times I open my watch to check the weather, I find that it won’t show it to me because “watch is not paired” while I can still give and receive phone calls (it is clearly connected). To fix this, I’ve discovered it is necessary to open the Da Fit app and reconnect the device through it. It is rather vexatious, and I had to repeat the process in order to get the watch to display the correct time after the daylight savings time setback. It seems to me that every time I charge it (needs to be every 2-3 days), it “disconnects” again.

Other than that, my pet peeves are rather trivial: when I rotate my wrist towards me, it turns on, but unlike my previous watch, it doesn’t turn off when I twist it away; it just stays on for another few seconds. Another thing – although I find it more amusing than bothersome – is the various evidence that this product was not designed in an English-speaking country. Again, it is humorous to me more than anything, as any native English speaker can understand what they were trying to say, but it is still rather unusual for bad use of the language to be found anywhere outside the instructions manual.

Overall I would say Colesma’s adaptation of the Apple Watch is fairly practical. While it isn’t perfect, I do like all the many features it offers and I find it quite convenient during everyday life when it does decide to cooperate. I can’t say how well it compares to the main brand products that it’s imitating, but I can safely recommend it as a budget alternative. Thanks again to Amazon Vine for this product; I would be delighted to receive more products similar and different!

TEFLOTY Smartwatch

This product was sent to us through Amazon Vine, but our account is restricted from writing reviews. Due to this inconvenience, you can read the review here!

The TEFLOTY Smartwatch is a useful waterproof fitness wristband that can provide plenty of statistics about your daily life such as how many steps you get in a day, how much sleep you typically get, your heart rate, and more useful features. There are also a few things that may interest you such as displaying the weather, media controls, timers/stopwatch, and many more functions.

Upon receiving your watch, it is very easy to set up using the app (which there is a QR code for). In the app, you can view all fitness-related statistics as well as customizing the watch and its abilities. For example, you can tell the app how often you want the watch to remind you to drink water, or when it tells you to move around a little bit/touch some grass. You can also set alarms, as the band can vibrate to hopefully wake you up. Another cool feature is that you can use it to remotely take photos for some interesting selfies.

Something neat that it can do is count the specific hours and minutes of sleep that you got, as well as when you were in deep sleep/light sleep. It also shows you a bar graph showing how much you were able to get over the past seven days, which is fairly useful if you want to adjust when you go to bed or something similar. Another thing it does is track your steps and vibrates once you reach your goal. It can show a graph as well, and can be used to see how active you are over the course of 24 hours. There are a few health-related functions as well such as blood pressure, heart rate, and blood saturation/SPO2, which also have their own data charts.

As mentioned previously, it is waterproof, and the rating for it is IP68. This means that you can use it for casual swimming, and water has a hard time getting inside it. It also has decent battery life, lasting around two days on a full charge.

If I could change anything about this watch, I’d get a more convenient charging method, such as a cord or dock, as the current flimsy magnet charger falls off more often than not. Something else I’d fix is the fact that it’s incapable of displaying all phone notifications, since it currently has a very small list of alerts you can get on the band. Also, something to note is that some of the things (mainly pictures) on the Amazon page are inaccurate.

If you’re looking for a watch to get without spending too much money, get this one. It costs $27.99, and has plenty of features. You’re almost guaranteed to appreciate a lot of the things it can do, and it’ll last you a while as well. I’ve used almost all of the features that it has, and love all of them. Chances are, you will too!

Narati Steam Deck Protection Kit

This product was sent to us through Amazon Vine and since our account was restricted from reviewing it on their platform, It’s now here for your reading pleasure!

In a household with multiple Steam Decks, I like to have mine stand out from the rest. Aside from a custom boot video, I thought a body and screen protector would be nice to have, especially with my cat who has been known to knock laptops off tables.

For less than $22 on Amazon, you can get the Narati Steam Deck Protection kit which includes:

1 Protective Case
1 Screen Protector
6 x Stickers
2 x Dust Filter Covers
4 x Dust Filter Plugs
4 x JoystickThumb Grips

{youtube}pkWK3YDHMLE{/youtube}

Installation is pretty straightforward. You only get 1 screen protector, so make sure you have it perfectly aligned and not 1mm off like I did in my unboxing video! My second attempt was perfect. I highly recommend ordering a backup screen protector for this reason or for future cracks. The headphone jack and USB-C dust covers are a nice touch, but are easy to lose and some may deem them not worth the hassle.

The rear button stickers look and feel nice, however, I had to scrap the touchpad stickers as they did not properly detach from the adhesive paper. That’s my only complaint with this kit.

I like the bigger joystick grips though some may prefer Valve’s original configuration here. Since these will eventually wear out, the extra set will come in handy. I also installed the wire mesh filter covers around the air intakes to reduce crumbs or dust from getting into my Steam Deck.

The external grip is easy to install and very comfortable to use. I’m happy to report that my Steam Deck still fits in its original carrying case with the protective case on.

If you’re looking to protect your gaming investment at a low cost, this Narati Steam Deck Protection Kit is definitely worth checking out. I hope you have better luck with the sticker installation than I did.

Wu-Miglu Protective Switch Case

This product was sent to us through Amazon Vine and since our account was restricted from reviewing it on their platform, it’s now here for your reading pleasure!

Adults and children can benefit from protecting their Switch from drops, dings, and general wear and tear.  I was disappointed that this protective kit did not include a screen protector.  I would highly recommend purchasing a screen protector along with this case for all-around protection.

One of the biggest benefits of this protective case is how it makes holding the Switch much more comfortable with the bulkier controller grips.  Before I had this case, I was using third party controllers that have a similar shape and lack the drifting defect that plagues the Nintendo branded controllers.  Although it’s a tight fit, my Lizard Skinned controllers do fit in this case.

Logitech M570 Wireless Mouse Review-Better than a conventional mouse

After using a more traditional mouse style for over ten years, trying out this interface was a refreshing improvement. However, it became apparent, hour by hour, that this ancient style is still in use. It feels normal, and although the motions were ambiguous in comparison to other rodents, it did not bring nearly as much pressure on our paws.

For Logitech M570 Wireless Mouse Review & Pricing we've spent over 50 hours researching this mouse only at the time of writing this article, and it's fair to say we're not in any hurry to go back to a standard mouse.

Elegant Design

To claim the Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Mouse's architecture is out of the ordinary will be an underestimate. When compared to almost every other mouse, it seems to be designed for an insect. The intriguing aesthetic, on the other hand, is not by chance.

Unlike other mice, which enable you to grasp and shift the mouse across the desk, the Logitech M570 stays stationary. Simply put your palm on the mouse and remain your thumb on the large blue trackball to navigate. This arrangement not only puts stress on the outside of your palm but also reduces total motion by utilizing only your thumb as a command.

AUKEY Car Cup Holder Phone Mount

AUKEY Car Cup Holder Phone Mount
Manufactured by: Aukey
Release date: July 22, 2020
Price: $14.99
(Amazon Affiliate Link)

Thank you Aukey for sending us this product to review!

My current and previous cell phones have been LG (G7 ThinQ and V60 ThinQ). The G7 was smaller and lighter and worked well with a magnet mounting system. One magnet went on the phone’s case while the car’s mount used the other magnet. When trying the magnet system with the V60 the magnets would fall off of the case (while driving which is always fun!) and the dual screen mode was a bit cumbersome with this method.

Since my minivan has several cup holders to spare, I thought I’d give the AUKEY Car Cup Holder Phone Mount a try. When I got it, there was a $3 off coupon. As of this review, that coupon is no longer available. The normal price is $18.99. There are cheaper options available, but I haven’t been let down by an Aukey product yet.

Hydragun

Thank you Hydragun for sending us a review sample!

In August we agreed to review the Citysports Massage Gun. At the time the massage gun was $160 (it’s now $99.99) and since we didn’t get reimbursed as promised we returned it and got our money back. Because we found the massage gun useful, we bought a $79.99 Chirogun out of pocket (It now sells for $117). Not only is the Chirogun half the price, it has thirty speeds instead of twenty and fifteen replacement heads compared to Hydragun's six.

Hydragun reached out to us to do a comparison between their $299 product and the Amazon offerings. To be honest, many of the massage guns available on Amazon look similar and it makes you wonder how many of them are manufactured at the same factory and have different stickers and LEDs added to make them slightly different.

Though Hydragun is a relatively new startup from Singapore, they back their products with a thirty-day return policy and a 1.5 year warranty. The Chrirogun only offers a 1 year warranty.

We recently decided that on our next road trip, we were going to bring our new puppy. Knowing how much of a mess our kids make by themselves, with a puppy, I could tell that our van was going to experience a whole new level of mess; hence the need for this vacuum.

When unboxing this item, I was pleased to see that it came in a decently functional case – not one of those that are so tight you can’t get the stuff back inside, but a usable one. It’s made of a canvas material that gets the job done. The vacuum is made out of cheap-feeling but perfectly functional plastic.

Citysports Massage Gun

Thank you Citysports for sending us this massage gun to review!

After looking at the Amazon store page for this deep tissue massage gun, I wasn’t sure if I would be qualified to use it. The people in the pictures have chiseled muscles and six-packs that I’ll never achieve in this lifetime. I’m happy to wait for my glorified non-photoshopped body. Though I don’t workout to the point of injuring my muscles, I do consider myself fairly active and spend time outside walking and riding my bike on a regular basis. Thankfully, I haven’t injured myself working out. It’s sleeping in weird positions (to accommodate the 2 cats and 1 dog that sneak into our bed) that makes me sore. As fate would have it, I woke up with my left shoulder reminding me that I’m not getting any younger.

I’m glad I had the Citysports Massage Gun handy! The question is which tip do I use? This massage gun comes with six interchangeable tips that range in hardness and materials. Swapping them out is easy to do and only takes a couple of seconds. Most of them are a rubberized plastic, but a couple of them have a “Nerf-like” texture to them. For my shoulder soreness, I used the shovel-shaped head which is good for the whole body. The mushroom head is intended to be used on the back on either side of the spine. The flat head is designed for the hips, legs, and hands. The U-shaped head is meant to be used in soft parts of the body. The bullet head is intended for local and small muscle groups. To be on the safe side, stick with the softer ball-shaped head which is good for all around use and less likely to hurt as it’s the softest option. Some of the harder tips may hurt bones or cause bruises if you’re not careful.

{youtube}g91cBRSCSHc{/youtube}

Once you have the head picked out, your next goal is to determine which speed is right for you. There are twenty to choose from and they all feel good! As you push the massager gun into the sore muscles, the speed and angle may change automatically for you. While I was able to use this massager on my own, enlisting someone to point it on my back head on, felt great. Of course, I had to give them a back massage in return, but fair is fair.

The most unbelievable Minecraft modes content creators have come up with

Thank you Canmixs for sending us this product to review!

I’ve been using a Garmin Vivofit 2 for the past few years. I like the step counting and prodding to get moving when I’ve been sitting still for too long. The Vivofit 2 also monitors my sleep, calorie burning, and menstrual cycle through the accompanying Android app. The Canmixs Smart Watch can do all of that and more for under $50.

The app is downloaded through a QR code in the instruction manual. For what it’s worth, my phone still scanned as virus free after installing this unsigned app. In order to unlock menstrual/ovulation cycle tracking, you’ll have to specify your gender as female in the app.

The build quality is nice and the soft rubber wrist straps are comfortable with plenty of size settings. I did find the metal clasp a little uncomfortable as it pressed into my wrist when typing. The 60g weight is noticeable, but not uncomfortable. The proprietary USB magnetic charging cable works nicely, I’m not sure how easy it will be to replace so I hope it doesn’t get damaged or lost.

I see this error message almost every day.  I'm sure many of our readers do too.  Even without the error messages, the site's loading times are not the greatest.  As a 501(C)3 Non-Profit we rely on tax-deductible donations to cover our minimal operating expenses. We're blessed to have our own dedicated web server that we share with other sites to offset the costs, but that server is several years old and having a hard time keeping up with our traffic.  We currently pay $35/month for a 2.27GHz Xeon 5520 with 16GB or RAM and 2 1 TB HDDs.  Finances permitting we would like to rent out a $89/month server that's 2.66-3.06GHz turbo Xeon with 72GB or RAM and 2 480GB SSDs.  The SSD drives alone would make this site much quicker, but the faster CPUs and increased memory would also help out tremendously.

Though the site still has a few volunteer reviewers (including the founders!), we've been blessed with many great paid reviewers who receive $25 per written review.  Given that our monthly income is less than $600 on average and our reviewer payouts take up a big chuck of that, we're not in a position to take on a significant expense unless we can secure more funding.

We have some regular donators who contribute via Paypal.  We also have an active Patreon page.  For those who don't like those two options, we have a Subscribestar site that has yet to get a backer on it. Thank you Accell for sending us this device to review!

As I often live near the cutting edge as technology improves, I’ve had my eye on the USB Type-C interface for quite some time, long before you could buy devices with the ports. I was excited about it then – the promise of a truly universal port, that always plugs in properly, and can work with everything – has finally become reality. With that said, the ‘one port to rule them all’ is great, but it comes with tons of caveats that are important to be aware of, as I found out first hand.

I have four devices with USB-C ports, and two PCs with the interface. USB-C has several possible data lanes, and they vary from USB 2.0 and 3.0/3.1, to DisplayPort, to Thunderbolt, in that order of speed. Almost all support at least USB data transfer, so that part is easy. However, not all ports support DisplayPort, and especially not all ports support Thunderbolt.

DisplayPort is the protocol, along with HDMI (which is just a variation on the DVI standard) that all modern displays use now. This interface is very fast (faster than HDMI in most cases), and extremely flexible. The standard, in version 1.2, supports up to 17.28Gb/s of bandwidth, which supports 4K displays at 60Hz. It also supports the MST (Multi-Stream Transport) protocol, which allows cool devices like this one to exist, which you can use to connect multiple monitors to one DisplayPort connector, or even daisy-chain monitors, if your devices support that.

CENTR Enhanced nootropic and adaptogen sparkling water

Investing in a good gaming headset is one essential step in upgrading your whole gaming experience. While it may seem like a matter of walking into the nearest store and picking the first brand you see, such a practice could get you regretting about your purchase. With the vast options of gaming headphones available in the market, picking one is becoming more challenging even to the veteran gamers. Going through a couple of gaming headphone buyer guides may help, but knowing the most important features to always look for is often the best tip. Do you want to know the 7 most important features of the most incredible gaming headphones? Then you are definitely in the right place.

High Quality Sound

The ability to hear game audio loud and crisp clear is the number one reason why gamers choose to invest in the best gaming headphones. The gaming headsets are usually made with both hardware and software technologies that ensure that high sound quality is upheld. The most common sound quality choices for these headphones include Stereo, Surround 5.1 and Surround 7.1, and the choice usually depends on the gamer’s personal preference. In terms of hardware, gaming headphones usually incorporate designs with noise cancellation technology. Some of these include closed-back designs and over-ear earpieces. While the closed-back design isolates the outside sound, the earpieces with paddings that cover the whole ear keep the sound intact, directing all or most of it to the ear canal. This results in loud, clear and high quality audios. Although, there are gamers who enjoy gaming while listening to ambient noise from their environment. If you fall under this category, the open-back gaming headphones are the perfect choice for you.

Comfortable Design

Apart from sound quality, comfort is another great reason why gamers can easily spend a fortune on gaming headphones. Actually, most gamers usually spend so much time playing, and comfortable headsets will not only help them enjoy gaming for longer, but they won’t have to worry about adjusting them from time to time, which may be detrimental to their performance particularly in competitive gameplay. The best headphones fit perfect especially over the ears. This is what makes circumaural headphones the most common gaming headphone design. The earpieces should be well padded to provide comfortable cushioning to the ears while sealing in sound and directing it into the ear. The head strap must be sturdy and adjustable to ensure a proper fit for different head sizes. The materials used must also be gentle to the skin such as genuine leather on the earpieces and smooth plastic on the other parts.

Diverse Connectivity Options

Wireless and wired gaming headphones are the most common gaming headphone designs in the market based on connectivity. Wired headphones will connect to your gaming device via a cable that transmits audio to the earpieces. However, if you are tired of connecting wires and cables every time you want to game, then wireless headphones are perfect for you, in which case you need to ensure their battery life and charge runtime is reliably long. Rather than connecting to your game devices via cables, it makes use of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other wireless connection channels. If you want to enjoy both of these worlds, then having a compromise between the wired and wireless headphones is perfect. Some of the top gaming headphone models can connect both wirelessly and via cable, which is a great plus for any ardent gamer.

Multiple Device Compatibility

Imagine coming home with those fantastic gaming headphones and on plugging them in, they cannot produce a single sound. The second scenario is when your headphones only play on a few of your devices. This is very frustrating, especially for gamers who use multiple devices. The greatest gaming headphone models should have technologies that are compatible to multiple devices. It helps to inquire from the seller about the compatibility of the headphones you are looking to invest in to your device. You could also check out the different ratings and reviews of the gaming headphones from people who have used them on similar gaming device models as the ones you already own. Multiple device compatibility means that the gamer can easily use your gaming headphones on any device, even if it is away from your gaming station. In addition to the software and drivers used being multi-device compatible, the connection jack should also match the connection ports of most gaming and audio equipment.

Customizable Settings

Adjustability and customizability of gaming headphones are the features responsible for these headphones’ reliability and versatility. First, for the perfect sound quality at any given time, the best gaming headsets usually come with adjustable controls such as volume and bass. This ensures that even subtle sounds such as footsteps and audio cues are audible enough. The headband should also be adjustable for easier and comfortable fitting of different sizes and shapes of the gamers’ heads. Other adjustable features include foldable earpieces meant specifically for increased portability and easier storage of the gaming headphones. In addition to these, you could have removable cables whether the gaming headphones can connect wirelessly or not.

Strong and Durable Build

No matter how small a product you purchase is, the ultimate goal for everyone is getting one that can last longer. This applies to gaming headphones too. Strength and durability all depend on the materials used and the quality of the construction. The materials used in impeccable gaming headphones have to be strong and sturdy to ensure resistance to wear and tear, making them last longer. The quality of their construction should also be high quality, with every connection being strong and secure. You should always avoid headphones that look flimsy and cheap.

Excellent Microphone

During gaming, it is essential for the gamer to communicate with his opponents or teammates. For this to be effective, the gaming headphones should have an inbuilt high quality microphone. This will ensure perfect recording and transmission of the gamer’s voice, which will result in a crisper and clearer audio heard from the receiver’s side. This is very important, especially in competitive gaming where instructions, responses and other communication should be fast and very audible.

Conclusion

As you surf different websites over the internet, I am sure you have found different resources regarding the most reliable gaming headphones in the market. Most of them will promise you heaven, only for you to purchase them and regret your decision. Apparently, all you need is this reference of the main features of the perfect gaming headphones. Once you go through these, you will have no problem finding the ideal gaming headphones to cater for your needs. All you need thereafter is a budget and a gaming accessories store of your choice.

eniTAB360

eniTAB360
Developed by: Filofax
Price: $19.99

Thank you Filofax for sending us this product to review!

I’ve been toting around a tablet for a few years and I use it for accessing online recipes in the kitchen and taking digital sermon notes at church. The purple Fintie case I’ve been using for my LG tablet has served me well and I like how it has a built-in flap that allows the tablet to be propped up horizontally. Until now, I haven’t heard of Filofax and their universal tablet cases and tablet holders. Many of their tablet cases are over $50, but they include the universal tablet holder with them ($19.99 value).

The eniTAB360 comes in two sizes: small and large. The small is designed for 8.5” screens and smaller and the large is for 8.5” or more. I was sent the small model to review. The design is well thought out and very sturdy. I like how the edge that comes in contact with the flat surface is rubberized to prevent scratching. The green circle part that sticks to your tablet uses silicone based polymer micro-suction technology. The suction is very strong and you need to use the included smooth card device to have it loosen the grip off of your tablet. If you lose the remover, a credit card could work instead though I would worry about some potential scratching.

Flash/Browser Games Trends to Watch Out for In 2018

Buying a gaming desktop or laptop is a big commitment. However, if you get a machine powerful enough, it can provide years of entertainment. Desktops are cheaper and easier to upgrade so if you don’t need portability, you can get more machine for your money that way. No matter which route you go, the advice in this article is applicable for both systems.

Generally speaking, with gaming laptops, you have the classic 'pick two' rule: Power/Specs, Size/build quality, Affordability - pick two. The slimmer and lighter something is, the less powerful - unless you are willing to pay more for it. There are relatively affordable gaming laptops that are significantly less expensive than the thin and powerful variety, but they are usually an inch thicker or more. It's only on the very high end where no matter how much you spend it won't be thin (like SLI video cards and such).

All system types discussed herein are assumed to be Windows computers. Macs can play some games, as can Linux, but they are sadly limited. And while Linux can actually use much of the same hardware as Windows, so most of this guide still applies (with the caveat that OS and hardware support is all on your own), you are still limited on game selection (though you may learn other useful technology skills!). On Mac, you are limited to the maximum of a midrange gaming GPU - for their top of the line Macbook Pro prices. Typically, I would say that people who purchase Mac computers do not or should not choose them with primarily gaming in mind. This is something that Apple Corp. has simply chosen to ignore; they do have the power to fix it if they so choose. Instead, Apple has pre-chosen size and build quality as their sole focus, which is dandy, but they do not make gaming capable laptops, and what they do offer is extremely expensive.

The first step in purchasing a gaming machine is to determine your budget. Faster machines are more expensive and there is no way around that. Most laptops come with Intel graphics but if you want to do some serious gaming, you’ll have to pay a premium for AMD or Nvidia graphics. If you plan on doing VR with your system, you’re going to want a GeForce GTX 1060 at least. Anything faster is, you guessed it, more money.

Thank you Urban Armor Gear for sending us this phone case to review!

My past two phones have been Samsungs with my previous one being an S4 and my current one an S7. To protect both of them I have used Otterbox covers and have been very happy with their performance. I can’t how count how many times I’ve accidentally dropped my phone, but it happens. Between dropping my phone and it getting shuffled around in my purse it’s on its second tempered glass screen protector. The base phone itself is in pristine condition.

My pink Otterbox case has taken a beating with broken plastics around the USB and headphone connections. I was in the market for a replacement when hearing about Urban Armor Gear.

On their website, Urban Armor Gear advertises their military grade cases as rugged, lightweight, and providing drop protection. Their testing requirements are dropping their products twenty-six times at a height of forty-eight inches. On top of that they offer free shipping, a one-year warranty, and US based customer support. Compared to current S7 Otterbox case prices, the Urban Armor Gear sells for $10 more on Amazon. Is it worth the extra cost?

The bottom ports are easily accessible since they are not covered like the Otterbox model. The power and volume buttons feel nice and are very responsive. The thickness is about the same as my previous phone cover so there’s not much change there.
