Synth Riders has been going strong since 2018. Many DLC song packs have been released that you can play by yourself or with friends online. Most of the DLC packs have free songs available for everyone to enjoy, but this five-song music pack does not include any freebies. However, this music pack does contain an “experience” level for the song Wonderland. Experience levels are unique to each DLC pack and more immersive than typical score-driven levels.
This is the first time I’ve heard of and listened to songs from Caravan Palace. This group has been around since 2008 and are from France. Their music style can be described as electronic swing. Though their lyrics are in English, I had trouble understanding them at times. I had to look up each song and read their lyrics to find out what they were singing about. To be honest, I found the lyrics to be rather dull. In them, I found references to guns and some mild language (hell). If you want to give these songs a listen, there’s a Spotify playlist available.
Strong Points: Fun music; neat experience level
Weak Points: No free songs in this DLC pack
Moral Warnings: Mild language in the lyrics (hell), references to guns
This music pack contains five songs (Lone Digger, Miracle, Rock it for Me, Tattoos, Wonderland). Out of the five songs, I enjoyed the experience level for Wonderland the most. I haven’t done drugs in my life (nor do I plan on starting), but I think the “trippiness” of this level is the closest I’ll come to that experience. The catchiest song for me in this bundle is Miracle. Each of the tracks have several difficulties to master and attempt to get your name on the online leaderboards. Even after multiple attempts, I am not going to dethrone any of the top-ten leaderboard score holders. As usual, after each song you’ll see your percentages of poor, good, and perfect notes.

Nothing has changed gameplay wise. You have to touch similarly-colored orbs with your hands. Your left hand is blue while the right one is pink. Green orbs can be tapped with either hand and orange ones require both hands to get credit. There are also many pink walls that you have to dodge. Pink orbs placed near these obstacles may be hard to see at times.
Playing through all of the songs will take roughly twenty minutes but there’s plenty of replayability between improving upon your score and trying harder difficulty levels. This music pack retails for $9.95, but I have seen it on sale for $6.35. If you’re a fan of Caravan Palace, swing or electronic music, it’s worth checking out.
