The HIGHGAZE BA-10MU Gaming Audio Mixer is an inexpensive and handy device that will combine audio from two different USB connected sound sources and output them to a 3.5mm headset. Gamers can use this device to combine a Discord audio call with their PC, PlayStation, or Switch streams. Sadly, Xbox connectivity is not licensed/supported.

Inside of the box, you’ll find the HIGHGAZE BA-10MU which only weighs 16 grams. It has a clip and volume controls for your convenience. There’s a mute button which will illuminate in red when activated. A single USB cable and a USB A to C adapter is included. The device requires two USB connections so you’ll be on your own to supply the second cable.

The 3.5mm jack is for connecting your gaming headset which should ideally have a microphone on it. The HIGHGAZE BA-10MU does not have a microphone built in. Both connected devices should be able to hear the microphone input. Sadly, when using this device for a stream with a Discord voice chat, our participants communicated via text chat out of habit. We have been able to confirm dual audio output, but not input.

I tried using my phone but the USB connector on it is finicky and it took multiple cables to find one that it was happy with. Slightly moving the phone would also cause connectivity issues so this wasn’t the best testing scenario. I did find a better cable, but a newer and more reliable phone is expensive to swap out. I believe the problem lies with my phone and not the HIGHGAZE BA-10MU. This device is compatible with both Android and iPhones.

I had better luck at work. Despite being a game streaming device, the HIGHGAZE BA-10MU is quite handy in work environments too. If you find yourself stuck on a boring call or training video, why not connect the HIGHGAZE BA-10MU to your work PC and then hook up your Switch and multitask! In this use case, it worked flawlessly.

When plugging in the HIGHGAZE BA-10MU, Windows will detect and install it as your default sound device. You don't have to install any drivers, its plug and play. The audio quality can be changed from 16bit (DVD quality) to 24bit (studio quality) and is crisp and clear.

The asking price is a very reasonable $14.99 on Amazon. Since my husband keeps snagging this device to use while he works, we’ll probably have to buy a second one soon. There's no mention of a warranty, but we hope to continue using this device for years to come!
