Synth Riders was released in 2018 and it’s first DLC pack Electro Swing Essentials was released two years later. Many of the earlier DLC packs included free and paid content which is a great way to promote content to the community. While I’m not really into swing music, I can appreciate this collection and had a fun time dancing to it.
In total, there are nine tracks with five of them costing a couple of dollars each and the remaining four are free to everyone who owns the game. A Spotify playlist can be found here. Below are the tracks available in this DLC.
Strong Points: Four free tracks; cross-platform multiplayer mode
Weak Points: The DLC bundle is available in a 20% off bundle with the main game, but not by itself; no experience level
Moral Warnings: Some of the songs reference drinking and sex outside of marriage
Paid Tracks:
Guilty Pleasure - Jamie Berry (feat. Little Violet)
Boring 20s - Tamela D'Amico, Wolfgang Lohr & Ashley Slater
Magic Man (feat. J Fitz) - Balduin & Wolfgang Lohr
Let's Start Again (Odd Chap Remix) - Cut Capers
Rose - Swingrowers
Free Tracks:
Keep You in Line (feat. Cissie) - Jamie Berry
Keep on Smilin (feat. Emma Lea & Ashley Slater) - Wolfgang Lohr
Watch Your Tongue - PiSk, Little Violet
Silent Movie - Little Violet

The base Synth Riders game is required to purchase and play this DLC. Please refer to our review of the base game to learn how to play it. The DLC merely adds more music tracks and does not change the core gameplay.
I’ve been spoiled by the experience level often included in the DLC bundles. Sadly, there isn’t one in this song pack. Even without the experience level, the songs in this bundle are catchy and fun to dance to.
It took me roughly thirty-five minutes to play through the songs in this DLC bundle. My arms definitely got a workout!
Some of the songs have questionable moral implications. There are references to drinking and sex outside of marriage.
There are a couple of quirks worth mentioning. I’m thankful for the ability to adjust the positioning as my room calibration was off. The other bundles are available by themselves, but this one is only available as a Synth Riders + Electro Swing Essentials 2 combo. Steam usually knows which items are in your library to avoid purchasing multiple, but had an issue with one of the tracks not being shown as owned by me for some reason. The 20% discount is a nice perk!
If you enjoy swing music, the Electro Swing Essentials 2 DLC is worth looking into. I’m glad to see that free songs are back. I hope that experience levels will be coming back soon though! As usual, I won’t be dethroning anyone on the leaderboards any time soon. I have plenty of room for improvement.
