Thanks to Ratalaika Games for the code for this game!
One-Eyed Lee and the Dinner Party is a point-and-click adventure game with a morbid twist. You begin the game playing as One-Eyed Lee, and his sidekick, Beracus. The game begins with Lee and Beracus looking for a cure for Beracus’s suffering village. They find an entrance to a bunker that is abandoned- or is it?
The bunker they find was once a holding place for a group of cult members awaiting some kind of apocalypse. What is the morbid twist, if this isn't it? The group are now skeletons! But they are alive, somehow. In this creepy adventure with the living dead, you and Lee must find a way out of the abandoned bunker and save your souls in time.
As Lee and Beracus explore the bunker, they meet the members of the cult who were stuck down in this bunker- Isaac, the patriarch, Harriet, the wife, their daughters, Priscilla and Serena and the elusive cult leader, James. There are others, but I can’t reveal anything else without spoiling it on the character's ending.
One-Eyed Lee is a point-and-click adventure, and as such, this is the machination of operation that the controls use. The control stick moves the pointer, which is in the shape of Beracus’s hand. You click and point on various objects to collect them and move forward in the quest.

Strong Points: Interesting point-and-click adventure that is far from being boring
Weak Points: Soundtrack becomes monotonous after awhile
Moral Warnings: Occult heavy setting; heavy swearing; anti-Christian message depending on one's interpretation
The game involves various side quests that relate to the goal of getting out of the bunker. The one I found most interesting was the sidequest of draining the tub. You go around the bunker and look for various tools to drain the tub. As you speak of this sidequest, Priscilla, Harriet, Isaac and the others seem to be nonchalant about this. Another option is that while you are trying to drain the tub, Lee can drown. Doing this nets you an achievement in the achievements subcategory that is shown on your log.
About the log- the log is divided into ten categories- Journal, Inventory, Achievements, History, Save, Load, Settings, About, Help and Main Menu. The latter six categories are just what they appear to be but the first four are quite interesting. The journal is written by Beracus, and gives an excellent insight into Lee’s life, and that of him as well. It is an important backstory to the game. The inventory tells you what you have collected during these times. The Achievements is a story of trophy collection- you can collect up to 11. Fun fact- 11 is considered an unlucky number in certain cultures- guess this is appropriate for a game based around death and curses. The history tracks all of the dialogue you have with each member of the bunker.
The graphics are quite good for a point- and- click game. The character’s mouths move as they speak, and the designs of the area are believable-for a creepy bunker full of dead people. The main track that plays over and over is a very macabre and creepy sounding track that is catchy but aptly sets the scene for what has happened to this group of people waiting on their false savior, James. However, it became so monotonic and disturbing that I had to mute the game.

What is the morality score? One-Eyed Lee has some concerns here, primarily in the occult category. First of all, Lee himself is under a curse, which shows that there is occultism at work in the heroes. The Bible strongly speaks against curses and advises us to instead seek God's blessing. The people waiting for the apocalypse- the skeletons- are all named after Biblical references with the exception of Harriet. Could this be an attack on Christianity? I guess it could be if you want to see it that way. On the other hand, many cults, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses have falsely predicted the end of the world, and Jesus warns us precisely against hunkering down and waiting for the Rapture in Scripture precisely for this reason. If Jesus himself didn’t know the day or the hour, how can we know it? (Matthew 24:36) Whether the game intended an anti-Christian message or not, though, is ambiguous. So I left it up to the individual gamer to decide.
As the people being talked to are skeletons, I have given this a 0/10 in the occult category. There are no obvious sexual references. There is a lot of swearing as well.
My final verdict is to skip this one. If you can turn off your conscience though, then go ahead and play it.
