Cinergy Dine-In Cinema Experience

Cinergy Dine-In Cinema Experience

Thank you Cinergy for providing us with dinner and a movie!

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the newly opened Cinergy Dine-In Cinema in Wheeling, Illinois. We got to dine on $4.99 Sour Patch Kids Candy, a $14.49 Kong Burger, and a $13.49 BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger while watching Thor: Love and Thunder. We sparingly drank our fountain drinks to avoid mid-movie bathroom visits, but refills are easily requested via a QR code menu if we needed more. Cocktails, wine, and beer are also available if you’re 21 or older. If you do find yourself needing to use the restroom, they are modern looking with a marble finish that goes floor to ceiling.

There’s more than just movies at Cinergy. Patrons 18 and older can enjoy pool and/or shuffleboard for $12/hour. In the future, they plan on adding attractions at this location for younger audiences to enjoy. Other Cinergy locations offer VR, bowling, and laser tag so those are within the realm of possibilities. When other entertainment possibilities become available, so will the option of hosting birthday parties and private screenings.

Like other movie theaters, matinee showings are available in the afternoons at a reduced rate. Matinees cost $10.59 for adults, $7.59 for children, and $9.59 for senior citizens and military personnel. Regular rates are $14.29 for adults, $11.29 for children, and $13.29 for senior citizens and military personnel. You can book your seats online or at a kiosk in the lobby.

There’s a free loyalty program that’s available that lets you earn points for every movie you watch there. Upon joining, you’ll earn free popcorn. You can celebrate your birthday with a free movie ticket. Last but not least, elite members are able to enjoy $5 movies on Tuesdays.

Cinergy Dine-In Cinema is a cash-less business. If you intended on spending cash, you can exchange it at a kiosk for a “Fun card” that can be replenished as often as necessary without any fees. Food and movie tickets can all be ordered through your cellphone. Cellphone use is encouraged before the movies begin with interactive arcade games though the Noovie arcade app. Once the movie starts, silencing and putting away your phone is strongly encouraged.

The theater seating consists of comfortable reclining chairs with moveable tray tables. The tray table has a cup holder and between the seats is a shared cup holder. The tray table has a QR code which you can scan to bring up the food menu. Menu items can only be ordered from reserved seats while they are in use. Anything you order will be delivered by one of the friendly staff members. I received my meal; it was nice and warm. The fries were hot and the burger was warm. I’m not sure why, but the onion rings on the burger seemed to be cooler than everything else. Regardless, it tasted great and I won’t mind ordering it again sometime.

Like many businesses these days, Cinergy is hiring and offers a starting wage of $17 an hour. Some perks of working there include free movies and games, discounted meals, and tuition reimbursement.

There are multiple Cinergy locations in Texas and I hope to see more open in Illinois. While the drive to Wheeling is doable, it’s nearly an hour away. If we’re in the area or if they had a closer location, my husband and I would be happy to do another dinner and a movie simultaneously. With the reasonable prices and hangout potential, we wish Cinergy Dine-In Cinema in Wheeling great success!
