Many people begin their day with caffeine to wake their brains up. Some need another jolt throughout the workday to keep them focused. Coffee is a popular go-to for many. I have too much of a sweet tooth and need to drown out the bitter coffee flavor with so much milk and sugar that I may as well just drink a glass of milk! I typically start my day with homemade bubble tea. I have tried energy drinks like Monster and Red Bull and did not like their taste at all. My current and previous bosses rely on energy drinks to boost through the workday. Thankfully, one big mug of tea is all I need to get my brain in gear.

An average cup of coffee has 95mg of caffeine in it. Black tea has 47mg of caffeine, and since I use two bags, that puts my caffeine intake to a cup a coffee. Monster and Rockstar energy drinks have 160mg while Red Bull has 80mg. Many energy drinks have 2000mg of taurine per 16oz. When combining taurine with caffeine, there are risks of raising blood pressure and heart rate.
