Disciples in the Moonlight

Thank you House of Grace Studios for providing us with a screener to view the movie!

Disciples in the Moonlight takes place in the near future where the Bible is outlawed. The government is promoting a watered down version called the "Truth Bible" that has no hate speech in it. A Bible Buyback program is in place to collect and destroy the Word of God. Digital versions are prohibited and people's phones are scanned for bible apps to ensure compliance. Smuggling the Bible is a death sentence and that is where the movie begins with some believers in the middle of nowhere collecting Bibles to distribute them to churches in need. Homeland security wants to prevent this from happening and tries to kill the disciples on the spot.

A man who goes by "The Apostle" has been a thorn in the side of the government as he's been successfully smuggling Bibles to churches. It's getting more difficult and he reaches out to the movie's main character, Nate, to assist with the next Bible drop off. The kicker is that Nate's crew will have to deliver to seven underground churches across three states within two hours. Nothing is impossible with God, but this mission is very challenging to say the least. Many of Nate's friends are inexperienced and don't truly understand the danger they will be in. There are some wake up calls as the government starts surveilling them.

Disciples in the Moonlight lives up to its thriller genre as their plan is formed and they execute it. Like many things in life, it has some unexpected events that complicate matters. Will God's Word prevail? You'll have to watch it to find out.

This film is a little over two hours long. Like many Christian movies, it's a little rough around the edges. The message rings loud and clear though. What sacrifices are you willing to make to share the Gospel? Are you willing to accept anything other than the True Word of God to be compliant? Let's not make this film a realty.
