Thank you Dropout Games for sending us a review build of the game!

UNWYND is the debut mobile game from the Indian development studio, Dropout Games.  The pricing structure is different between the Windows and the Android version.  The Android version starts off free, but if you want to disable ads it's 99 cents and unlocking the full game and all future content is $1.99.  The Windows version costs 99 cents to download.  Since I don't have a Windows phone, this review will be based on the Android version.  I have tested both the free version of the game and the review file sent to us.

The gameplay is refreshingly simple and requires swiping horizontally or vertically to convert colored boxes to Xs or circles.  The first color of the box impacted by the swipe will change into a circle along with any matching boxes in the same direction.  Opposite colored boxes will be turned into an X.  To clear each level you must have the proper number and colors of Xs and circles.   There are no time limits and many of the puzzles have multiple solutions.  The first few levels of each section will cover the basics so you can get the hang of it.

Strong Points: Easy to learn; hard to put down
Weak Points: Inconsistent difficulty increases; content glitch
Moral Warnings: None!

There are three sections with thirty two levels in each one.  The free version of the game only has the first section, Lines, unlocked.  Even if you do not own the full version of the game, you can still progress into the Colors section, but you cannot continue from where you left off unless you have unlocked the full game.

In the Colors section of the game, you have three colors (Orange, Cyan, Yellow) to contend with, and the same rules apply, but at a harder difficulty level to meet each level requirement of the properly colored and marked boxes.  The last section is called Walls and provides walls to stop your swipes from breaking past them.  These walls can work for or against you.

Score Breakdown:
Higher is better
(10/10 is perfect)

Game Score - 80%
Gameplay - 17/20
Graphics - 7/10
Sound - 7/10
Stability - 4/5
Controls - 5/5

Morality Score - 100%

More packs and challenges are promised and the $1.99 price is worth it for the built-in ninety-six levels and every future add on.    Removing the ads alone is 99 cents, but for the extra dollar you get so much more.  The ads consisted of short videos and full page ads between levels.  For what it's worth, if your device is offline the ads will not display.

UNWYND is a fun puzzle game that is family friendly and thought provoking.  The sound effects and visuals are simple, but stylish.  UNWYND will be coming to Apple and Blackberry devices soon.  Dropout Games has another game in the works and I'm looking forward to more games made by this indie studio.
