Thank you Ubisoft for sending us an infinite pack!

In the skies of Opulencia there are many floating castles.  Some of them are weakly guarded while others have treacherous traps and are filled with hordes of monsters to protect its treasures inside.  It's your job as a neighbor to test their defenses and share in their wealth.  You can be sure that they'll be returning the favor.

There are two aspects to The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot - attacking other castles while building up the defenses in yours.  Out of the two modes, I prefer the attacking and spend minimal effort in designing my castle.  Since nobody has been defeated by my castle, my lack of effort apparently shows.  Sadly, I've only encountered a few castles with actual thought put into them.  That is the biggest downfall to the game.

Highlights:

Strong Points: Free and fun to play; good humor
Weak Points: In order to do well you have to play or pay a lot; castles are only as fun as their creator's imagination
Moral Warnings: Violence, language, and magic use

To defend a castle you have to level up its heart which unlocks the alchemist and blacksmith services.  The heart also determines the strength of your minions guarding your loot.  The higher the heart rank, the stronger your minions are and more varieties become available to purchase.  Of course the castle heart level limits the amount of rooms and critter capacity.  Without that limitation everyone would just throw in a thousand creatures and call it a day.  At least that's what I would do...

Creatures, traps, blockades, and additional rooms all cost money.  There are three forms of currency in this game.  Experience, gold and diamonds are standard rewards for conquering neighboring castles. The bling currency is harder to come by, but not impossible to get.  If you're impatient and want to pay to win, you can spend real money in exchange for this bling currency.  1,000 bling goes for roughly $10.

Besides spending money on bling to gain an advantage, there are various packs available as well.  The infinite pack I was given unlocks all four heroes, more inventory space, and it increases my experience/item drop rates.  The infinite pack is normally priced at $30 and for $10 less you can just unlock all four characters with special outfits.   If money is no object, you can plop down eighty dollars for  the "Big Package" that has all of the previous packs plus more creatures and items to stock your castle with.

The four heroes are the knight, mage, archer and the runaway.  Each hero has their own unique weapons and abilities.  I played the only female out of the bunch, the runaway.  She's got a rocker attitude and power moves/chords to go with it.  Her taunts were pretty funny as well.  Unfortunately, some of them had some language. Besides the cussing (d*mn, *ss), there is fantasy violence and magic.

Like many RPG games you will acquire and strive for awesome weapons and armor.  Of course the next powerful item is just shy of your grasp; be it the price or the level restriction.  There is plenty of replay ability whether it is to make your castle impenetrable, or to get revenge on somebody who managed to loot yours.  If you die trying, you can pay with in-game currency to revive yourself.

All in all The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a fun and free dungeon looting game.  Of course the game constantly reminds you of opportunities to spend more money. I wish the nagging messages for the infinite pack would go away for owners of the bundle.  While the humor, graphics, and sound are well polished, it's up to the users to make fun and challenging castles to loot.  I hope the community and leader boards remain active.
