Space Otter Charlie is an action-packed puzzle game where you maneuver your way through various planets and ships, completing several puzzles and defeating many unique enemies. The puzzles can include disabling lasers, defeating enemies, pressing buttons, and more.
The story of Space Otter Charlie is that all of the humans left, and the otters took over. The only problem, though, is that the planet keeps getting hotter, and eventually gets too hot for them to be comfortable in. The solution is to go to space. They got stuck in space, though, so they are trying to make it comfortable up there.
There are more optional missions than main ones. I personally think it should be the other way around, but that’s just my opinion. In these missions, you must float through the level, gathering resources as you go. These are used to build new weapons and suits, which help a lot on your journey. Some weapons are required to progress, and sometimes there will be a level that is dedicated to gathering the materials to make them.

Strong Points: Interesting strategy and puzzle gameplay; multiplayer
Weak Points: Bugs
Moral Warnings: Cartoon violence, story suggests stuff about global warming
There are many weapons and suits, and as I said, you must make them. They are used for many different things, including completing puzzles. The basic lazor (that's how it's spelled in-game) is a weapon that is solely used to fight enemies, and doesn’t seem to help with any puzzles. You unlock it early on, so that is expected. The reflector ray is a fast-shooting blaster that shoots a projectile that can bounce off of metal objects and walls. The missile launcher is a weapon that shoots a massive rocket that can break big boulders. All three of these weapons have upgrades. There technically is a 4th weapon which depends on the suit you are wearing. These are again, solely used for fighting, but are unique and fun.
In each level, there are lots of things scattered around, such as power-ups and crafting recipes. You need the crafting recipes in order to make the weapons and suits that I addressed above, and power-ups are, well, power-ups. You can also find little chips that contain a message either to advance the story or to contain a fun otter fact, such as how an otter will wrap their kids in seaweed to prevent them from floating away! Anyways, there are 2 power-ups that you will find, and they are the extra tank and the sea urchin. The extra tank allows you to fly with your jetpack for longer without having to pause and recharge. The extra tank does not recharge, though, so you must use it wisely. The sea urchin is somehow floating around up in space, but the otter facts teach you that an otter’s favorite food is a sea urchin, so when you eat it, it grants you infinite flight and supercharged weapons for a limited amount of time. All of your weapons shoot a lot faster and deal significantly more damage. In order to eat a sea urchin, though, you must mash your buttons in order to eat it, making you vulnerable while you are trying to.

In multiplayer, you can have up to four players in a PvP match, with 2 game modes. There is one mode where you must see who can eat the most sea urchins while trying to stop each other. You do not get the powers from eating the sea urchin, but since it takes a while to eat, you can easily be stopped if you get shot at. The other game mode is a deathmatch to see who can get the most kills.
Morally, Space Otter Charlie is great because all it has is fantasy violence, and no blood at all is shown. There is dialogue, but there is nothing bad about it.
Space Otter Charlie is a short and sweet game that brought a smile onto my face. If you like games like this, then maybe this one is for you.
