Eggcelerate! to the Tropics is the third entry to the Eggcelerate! Series. Unlike the first two games, Eggcelerate! to the Tropics has you racing on a motorcycle instead of a car. The same concept of driving around with a basket and an egg on top of your vehicle remains. Your goal is to get to the finish line as fast as possible without dropping that egg in your basket.
In total, there are thirty tracks and each has multiple Steam achievements for beating the recommended score and the developer’s best time. Skipping courses is not an option as the next track won’t unlock until you’ve completed the previous one.
Strong Points: Interesting racing concept; you can compare your scores with others online
Weak Points: While most of the egg drops were my fault, there were multiple instances where the camera angle glitched and caused me to drop the egg
Moral Warnings: Eggs will get dropped and broken
To keep things interesting, new challenges will be added after a couple of tracks. At first, you’ll have to worry about dodging coconuts. Later, you’ll have to contend with bananas and sandstorms. Many tracks have multiple paths to take and if you want to collect all one hundred golden sea turtles, you should explore every route.
Dropping eggs is inevitable. This game keeps track of how many you have broken and there are Steam achievements to commemorate your failures. You’ll also be subjected to various puns each time like “Tropic Like it’s Hot” and “Don’t Worry Beach Happy”.
Once you complete a race you’ll see how your score stacks up to the online competition. As usual, I won’t be threatening anyone’s ranks any time soon.

Visually, Eggcelerate! to the Tropics is quite colorful and the graphical style is neat. I like how the variety in eggs increases as you play higher levels. Each time you start a race your motorcycle, basket, and egg colors will be randomized.
The sounds change up with each race too. Sometimes it sounds like a moped and other times it sounds higher pitched like an angry bumblebee. The Caribbean music is upbeat and fitting for the tropical theme.
Morally, there’s little to complain about. However, those familiar with the original phrase may not appreciate the “Payback is a Beach” pun.
Eggcelerate! to the Tropics is Steam Deck verified which is great for the pickup and play game. I did experience a couple of camera glitches that caused me to drop the eggs on multiple occasions. Most of the drops (and resulting Steam achievements) were my own doing.
If you’ve enjoyed the previous entries or are looking for a challenging racing game, Eggcelerate! to the Tropics is worth looking into. You can save 25% by purchasing all three games at once for $23.97 or buy the latest installment for $11.99.
