Girl's Fashion Shoot puts you in the role of a junior high girl that lands a modeling job at the popular Rising Star magazine.  While there are plenty of models striving to be the most popular there, the atmosphere is more friendly than competitive.  The more popular you are, the more money you can earn per job.  

The game is broken down into months and you can take up to five jobs per month. These jobs can range from small gigs to big Rising Star events.  Since you're discouraged from taking smaller jobs, I wonder why they bothered to put that option into the game in the first place.  The Rising Star jobs have different themes and let you choose from your wardrobe and/or theirs to fulfill the shoot requirements.

I like how each clothing/accessory items are tagged with categories and you can filter the wardrobe for specific themes to narrow your selection.    Unfortunately the interface is still a bit clunky as the layout still makes it difficult to find specific items.  One photo shoot required that I had a bag or purse and it took me a while to find them under the sunglasses category.  Meeting the requirements for the dotted top and checked bottom took me several tries to get right as well.  Even though the shirts were dotted, they must not have triggered the condition properly.  While you can still do the shoot without meeting the requirements, it's not recommended as it will reflect badly on your popularity ranking.  

Besides doing photo shoots for Rising Star magazine you can go shopping for makeup and clothes, learn poses, get a new hairdo, or spend time with friends.  The most lucrative way to earn money is to audition and get accepted for various ads and spokesperson roles.  The only downfall is that the wardrobe and photo session is all coming out of your closet and pocket.  

There are tons of available items from the wardrobe in all various colors and styles.  Not surprisingly, some of the clothes are very short and skimpy.    Everything is expensive in this game as well.  While this game starts you off with $50,000 you can only buy a few clothing items with it.  Learning a new pose costs you $3,000 a piece.  (I thought mimicking was free)

My daughters are very interested in this game.  The pink game cover and girly graphics is sure to draw in most young girls.  The ability to play dress up is very appealing and the designing the magazine layout afterwards is fun too.  I got plenty of suggestions from my daughters as I played.   While this is sure to entertain younger kids, older ones may find the gameplay repetitive after a while.
