Surviving this prehistoric adventure just got more interesting.

London, UK, 13th February 2026 - After the momentous launch of Neolithic Dawn 1.0 for Meta Quest in December 2025, team Neolithic are back with the survival adventure’s next major update. And “survival” is key to this latest addition, creating a brand new ‘Survival Mode’ for tribe members.

Survival has always been at the heart of the Neolithic Dawn adventure, with this new gameplay mode offering players greater versatility. In ‘Survival Mode’, players can create custom play sessions with no fixed objectives to complete; the only objective is to survive 10,000 BC North America! Furthermore, it’ll also offer drop-in and drop-out accessibility, allowing other players to easily access the world rather than requiring a room code.

In future updates, the ‘Survival Mode’ will be expanded upon with the addition of base building. This allows players to build their homestead wherever they like.

With the introduction of ‘Survival Mode’, Neolithic Dawn players will find the original survival campaign has now been renamed ‘Story Mode’. Furthermore, the co-op and single-player save system has now been merged. That allows players to have multiple Story Mode saves and choose to play those same games with friends.

“This new Survival Mode is a direct response to our community,” says James Belian, Neolithic LLC founder. “We heard your ideas, and when something can make Neolithic Dawn even better, we’re all in.”

But that’s not all! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, you can now customise your character with the “Lovestruck” accessories pack. This features a heart arrow through a head hat and a pastel pink hair colour.

Neolithic Dawn is available now on the Horizon Store for Meta Quest, priced at $19.99 USD/€19.50 EUR. Neolithic Dawn is also available on Steam Early Access for PC VR headsets. The Meta Quest and SteamVR editions offer complete parity for full cross-play co-op support.
