Sir Noggin Brings Big Brains and Big Sword to 2D Platforming

Scarlet Moon Games debuts with Sir Noggin developed by Sinclair Strange with music by coda, bringing Master System-inspired charm and big personality to the 2D platforming genre



SAN DIEGO - September 17, 2025 - Scarlet Moon and independent game developer Sinclair Strange are pleased to announce Sir Noggin, a charming 2D platformer full of challenging combat and adventure. Featuring the big-brained Sir Noggin and his big sword, players will slice their way through six stages, using several abilities at their disposal, and challenge epic bosses, all while jamming out to a catchy chiptune score by Scarlet Moon composer coda (Consume Me, VIDEOBALL, Read Only Memories: Neurodiver). Sir Noggin is now available to wishlist on Steam:

"We've been long-time fans of Sinclair's work," notes Scarlet Moon's Jayson Napolitano, "There's a clear reason why he's won Ludem Dare three separate times! With catchy chiptunes by coda and a new Scarlet Moon jingle composed by Scarlet Moon's Dale North, we hope we've done Sinclair's incredible pixel art justice with the sound. We're looking forward to people's reaction to Sir Noggin!"

"Sir Noggin is a love letter to the games I grew up playing on the Sega Mega Drive and Master System," notes developer Sinclair Strange. "Taking inspiration for great titles like Wonder Boy 3, Castle of Illusion, and Sonic the Hedgehog, I wanted to create something colourful, charming, and filled with nostalgia. I also had a desire to design something different to my usual 'run-n-gun'-styled games and I’ve always wanted to create a character who wields an overly large sword! Sir Noggin uses the Sega Master System’s palette and graphical features, a console that is sadly overlooked in my opinion."

Sir Noggin is the debut title published by Scarlet Moon Games, which adds games publishing to its ensemble that already includes custom music, sound design, voice over, soundtrack distribution, and both music and games promotion. Sir Noggin will release on both Steam and itch.io in the near future.
