COLOGNE, Germany (Aug 20, 2025)— During the gamescom 2025 edition of the Future Games Show, TaleWorlds Entertainment premiered a new trailer for its best-selling strategy-RPG MOUNT & BLADE II: BANNERLORD and its upcoming War Sails naval expansion. Depicting the arrival of the Viking-inspired Nord faction and featuring the iconic oarsmen’s anthem “Put Your Back Into The Oar,” courtesy of seminal melodic death metal group Amon Amarth. The incoming War Sails expansion is scheduled to arrive to MOUNT & BLADE II: BANNERLORD in the Fall of 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG, alongside a major free update to the base game.

The War Sails expansion marks a significant shift in Calradian warfare by officially introducing naval battles for the first time. The Viking-inspired Nordic faction brings its legendary seafarers and fierce close-quarters fighters to the fore, ready to invade a host of new coastal territories also included in the expansion. Players can command entire fleets, engage enemy vessels, board the ships of their foes, and enforce blockades, adding new strategic dimensions to combat across land and sea.

Alongside the War Sails launch, TaleWorlds Entertainment has confirmed the release of a free update: Patch v1.3. Future updates will introduce new gameplay mechanics like stealth and disguise systems, random events, a Parley feature, and combat improvements. More details will be shared later.
