Aniplex and Akatsuki Games Announce Release Date for 2D Top-Down Pixel RPG HYKE:Northern Light(s)

Coming to Steam®, Nintendo Switch™, and PlayStation®5 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6pm PDT / Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10am JST

(Tokyo, Japan) - August 7, 2025 - Aniplex today announced that HYKE:Northern Light(s), a new joint project with Akatsuki Games Inc., will launch for $27.99USD on Steam®, Nintendo Switch™, and PlayStation®5 on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 6pm PDT / September 19, 2025, 10am JST. Planned and produced by Akatsuki Games, developed by Blast Edge Games Inc., the title is jointly published by Aniplex Inc. and Akatsuki Games Inc. To celebrate the launch in September, Aniplex will be releasing various updates and new content via its official social channels, including a character introduction trailer featuring the game’s protagonist, Hyke.

Witches, Camping, and an Adventure Across the World!

In a world devastated by the war between humans and witches, Hyke, a white-haired girl, follows in her mother's footsteps, a witch, and continues her journey around the world. Eventually, as she enters unexplored lands known as the “Forbidden Areas,” Hyke's destiny is set in motion when she encounters the witches known as “Meteos,” who guard the Forbidden Areas.
