Munich, April 7, 2025 – Munich-based indie developer Active Fungus Studios is proud to release its latest title: Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing. This detective RPG is now available on PC via Steam and invites fans of intricate puzzles and gripping narratives to dive into a brand-new mystery. Early birds benefit from a 10% launch discount on Steam until April 14, with the regular price set at 19.99 EUR / 19.99 USD.

In Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing, young officer Valentin Schmidt – hoping for a quiet vacation by the North Sea – is once again drawn into a mysterious murder case. Players take on the role of a true detective, questioning locals and sneaking around to uncover clues. The stealth system, familiar from the first game, has been completely revamped. A wide variety of challenging logic, visual, search, and combination puzzles keep gameplay fresh and engaging.

Like its predecessor, A Bavarian Tale, this title places a strong focus on dialogue, quirky characters, branching storylines with multiple endings, and a richly historical setting. The story unfolds in 1870, a time of major social and technological upheaval. To tell the story authentically, Active Fungus Studios once again relies on local voice talent. Since The Ebbing is set in the fictional town of Havstedt on the North Sea coast, characters speak in authentic northern German dialects. Of course, subtitles and an English voiceover are also available.

Key Features:
