War Robots Achieves $1 Billion in Lifetime Revenue

The mobile game celebrates its biggest financial milestone yet

Amsterdam, Netherlands (February 18, 2025) | MY.GAMES is happy to announce that War Robots, a PvP tactical shooter made by in-house studio Pixonic, has earned $1 billion dollars in gross lifetime revenue from all platforms.

After 10 years of stable growth, War Robots crossed an important threshold and entered the billion-dollar club. According to data.ai, less than 100 of all mobile games in history earned $1 billion in revenue. It’s important to note that from 2016, more than 150 thousand mobile games were released in the USA alone, not including hyper-casual titles. That makes the mobile game market extremely saturated.

“This milestone reflects not only the enduring appeal of War Robots but also MY.GAMES’ commitment to creating high-quality, engaging gaming experiences that resonate with a global audience,” said Elena Grigorian, CEO of MY.GAMES. “Reaching $1 billion in lifetime revenue is a testament to the dedication of the War Robots development team and the innovative strategies we’ve employed to stay competitive in an ever-evolving market. It highlights the power of combining robust live operations, consistent content updates, and a deep understanding of our players' preferences. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain focused on sustaining growth and delivering exceptional gaming experiences to our players.”

A big part of War Robots’ success is its vibrant and ever-growing community. Over the years, around 300 million people have installed the game on all platforms — and, in 2024, up to 4.7 million of them play monthly, with a daily user count of up to 690 thousand.

Device-wise, mobile has been the biggest contributor compared to PC and brought in 95% of installs and 94% of revenue. There are more than three times as many Android users as iOS players among the War Robots audience — 212 million versus 70 million, respectively. At the same time, the revenue from each platform is almost equal — $455 million on Android and $442 million on iOS.

Content-wise, fresh content distributed through in-game events consistently performs the best, accounting for a significant portion of revenue. To stay relevant and engaging for players for over a decade, the team has focused heavily on content and live operations. Each year, the developers release around 100 new content units — including robots, pilots, and weapons — and on average 9 events.

From a geographic perspective, War Robots is played in every country worldwide, with its largest lifetime revenue contributors being the United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and Great Britain. Leading the list, the US boasts over 36 million installs and over $380 million in revenue. Android users brought in $161 million and players with iOS — $191 million in lifetime gross revenue, respectively.

The game is also a leader in its genre in the country. In 2024, War Robots ranked 1st in the country’s top charts for Vehicle Shooters in revenue on both stores. In terms of installs, iOS users secured 2nd place for the game, while Android users claimed 3rd.

Another prospective and incredibly well-performing market is China. War Robots returned there in full swing in January 2024 and quickly found its audience.

Currently, the Chinese version of War Robots holds the stable 3rd place in revenue for iOS across all countries worldwide. It is also released in 29 Android stores. According to Appmagic, in 2024, the Chinese version of the game ranked among the top 5 vehicle shooters worldwide by revenue, while the global version secured 1st place.

“We announced reaching $500 million in cumulative revenue near the 7th anniversary of War Robots. It took us less than four years after that milestone to join the prestigious ‘$1 billion games club,’ well ahead of the game's 11th anniversary," said Vladimir Markin, Head of Pixonic studio. “I’m really proud of the War Robots team for keeping the game fresh and relevant while planning exciting updates, not just for 2025 but for years ahead. A huge thank you to our dedicated players – you inspire us to keep pushing boundaries.”
