Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca, left us on April 30.
Know what was so good about him? Even as a kid, of course I knew that there was a man in a wookie suit... that Chewbacca wasn't real... and yet he was so natural, so convincing, so believeable... That I never thought about it when watching him onscreen. He didn't look like a man in a costume. He looked like Chewbacca, first mate of the Millenium Falcon.
Thank you for that Mr. Mayhew. You will be missed.
