I use the Xbox 360 wired one.

Though, this Logitech is still one of the best for its price:

I have heard that PS 2 controllers will work for Macs. I haven't tried it yet, but I've been thinking about getting a cheap one, just to see.

And then there's Darwiin, which allows you to use your Wii remote with a Bluetooth-capable Mac, too. It works, but my experience has been mixed with it. At least it's free....

A decade ago these things were huge. I still have a Logitech joystick floating around somewhere, which was crazy fun to play FPS games with.
