Yesterday was a wreck. It started with one, just a minor rush-hour fender bender, but the tone for the day was set. After driving for an hour to work my wife calls. The dog has died (do I sound like an old country song yet?). She's crazy emotional and we nearly get in a fight before I twig that she really needs me to come home (I'm that dense). So I drive another 45 minutes back the way I came. At least traffic in the other direction was light.

So she and I drive the dog to the pet crematorium while my mom watches the kids. Thank God she's moved to town already or I don't know what we'd have done. Then we pick the kids back up and in a moment of weakness (I should have made everyone wait a few days) we drive to the Animal Control kennels to look at dogs. We like two of them and pick one to put in an application for (a cute boy that looks like a cross between a King Charles and a German Spaniel but I'm no expert).

We get home and have a break (we can't pick up Sammy until Saturday) and just as we're about to get ready to take the kids to swimming lessons my mom calls. She's fallen and thinks she broke her hand; thankfully it's only sprained really badly. So my wife takes my mom to the emergency room and I take the kids. The rest of the day continues without further catastrophe until this morning my wife is having a fit wanting both the dogs we looked at yesterday. And now she's upset with me because I'm refusing to adopt more than one. >.<

Sorry to whine, but I could use some strength and peace right about now.

Be part of the answer, not part of the problem.

My friend, I'm sorry to hear that these things are piling up on you. Often it's an onslaught of things that we could handle one at a time or even two at a time that create a perfect storm of anxiety! We will pray for you.

God, I thank You that in spite of everything that happens You are there and You are willing. I thank you that you no longer remember the sins of those who are in Christ and do not have respect of persons. Please help Your children in their time of need, especially for Your son who is under a lot of stress right now. Please release peace into their home.

In Jesus's name,
Amen.

You're gonna be fine.
