Hi all,
I have been looking for a recording software that actually works well, i.e. high res and high quality game video + game sound + microphone sound.
I found these:
* CamStudio (open source, too low frame rate only)
* GoToMeeting (monthly subscription, too low frame rate)
* xSplit ($15/3 month, low image quality for Minecraft even in paid edition)
* Fraps ($37 one-time, great quality, but crashes Minecraft on Win8 x64)
* Bandicam ($23-$39 one-time, great quality, high res, high frame rate)
So I will get Bandicam. There are a few tiers in price, depending on how many copies I buy. Anyone interested in buying it as well? Then we can go for a higher tier and each pay less.
I'll wait for replies till Friday.

I've thought about getting Bandicam before, but I'd really need to know more about the software before I make any decisions. I've been thinking about instead hooking my laptop up to a capture card and just using that.

I have an iGrabber. It's made specifically for Mac. It has a program that allows it to run for Windows, but I had trouble doing that.

Personally I use Fraps. I know a lot of people on YouTube do as well. I don't really know much about Bandicam but I figured I would just let you know Fraps works quite well for me in case you change your mind 
I don't know how to make this look good so here's a cat.

I personally love Bandicam for all my recording, as it does everything Fraps does (and does it better, including the demo) and much more, with the exception of Fraps being able to save screenshots as .tga, which imo is a pointless feature.
Bandicam's also only a few dollars more, and you'll also notice filesizes being much smaller due to Bandicam's live compression feature
EDIT: Of course, if you need raw footage, Fraps is good for that.

For screen recording, I use MSI Afterburner. It's free and not too bad, however you have to splice the audio track with the video separately, which I use Sony Vegas Pro for. For audio recording I use Audacity.
tl;dr:
MSI Afterburner (Free, but only records video)
Audacity (Free, only records audio, but good at editing it)
Sony Vegas Pro ($400+, but Movie Studio [only $70 for the latest] works just as good)
Vegas Pro was well worth the investment for me (But I also do other video editing), but you can make just about anything work.

This used to be sold for $500 put they abandoned it and are giving it away for free now.
