Alright, I know that there are a lot of others out there that feel the same way, but I really get annoyed at the stuff on Facebook like:
Like for Jesus
Comment for Jesus
Share for Jesus
Keep scrolling for the devil
So what they are saying is that since I didn't like a stupid picture, I'm "for the devil"?
Also stuff like this:
[insert a picture of someone doing something awful]
Like for 1 slap
Comment for 1 kick
Share for 10 punches
Alright so first off, do I really need to get all these awful pictures of people doing bad stuff. Secondly, as Christians we should be showing love to one another, even if they do have wrong (even though I get angry when I see them).
Then there are the stuff like:
Like or [insert something horrible] will happen
Again, do I really want to see this stuff?

So my questions are: 1. Do you "like" these pages? 2. Do you also dislike them? Thankfully there aren't really any on my real life Facebook that do that. Pretty much just my people I don't know in real life/trading one. I ended up unsubscribing from most of my friends on my trading/ people I don't know in real life account. If I really care about them, I'll go to their page. Besides, I mainly just need it for PM's. Understand that I'm not a big Facebook user, just wanted to make a point.

I agree with you. I find that stuff very offensive.

It's a good thing you removed them from your list, as I'd do the same.

Also, welcome to the forums!

I'd probably ignore and dislike people who post that stuff

Before facebook, it was forwarding emails, and I was amused to find that before emails, people did similar things with chain mail.

I remember calling someone out on it, and they started going off on how much they love their brother and didn't want to take chances. Let it be said, just because you go to college doesn't mean you're smart.

To be fair from the perspective of someone who actively disbelieves the notion deity all religions are basically equivalent to the largest chain letters ever.

I don't 'like' these things and I don't like them. I would ignore one if I ever saw one on Facebook but I'm almost never there. They exist in various forms in other contexts though.

I'm very seriously considering sigging this.

I do wish FB had a "dislike" button. When I come across things like that on my news feed, I typically block them or delete them - at times I block the group posting the initial picture entirely. If things get really bad, then I remove the person from my Friends list. Of course, most of the people on my list are people I know personally anyway (and those I don't know personally are friends with my wife. ;) )

That reminded me of a great South Park clip (don't worry, it's clean).

As soon as you mentioned South Park, I knew exactly what you were talking about. Great clip. :)

I rarely visit Facebook, so I don't really have a comment on that. I admire that faith, though. But I completely agree with what you're saying.
“The humble sinner will sometimes be interpreted as one of the filthiest in the eyes of man yet immersed in the eyes of God, and this is due to the volition of honesty regarding his own corruption.”
