People on gamefaqs are still talking about it?
Looks like the 50 paged thread was not enough. -.-

*Sigh* You know what the worst part is? I can't blame them.

Even though I think the team at Family Friendly gaming is great, sometimes the reviews just aren't very...well thought out. I cringe when I read some of their reviews. I know that what I've put out so far isn't much better, I acknowledge that, but sometimes I worry if this is how the world looks at us.

BTW, I lied. Know what the even worse part is? I have a feeling I'm going to get some hate mail once the next issue goes live. :(

I hate to say this, Nate, but I'm surprised you're writing for them.

Honestly, given the nature of the review, I'm not shocked to see their response. Not shocked at all.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

I was about to say that the people at gamefaqs were being unnecessarily rude, but then I saw the second to last post on this page: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997768-k ... 665?page=3

I've been around long enough to know Wyldcard and FamilyFriendlyGaming are the same person. He says, "I respect the site and what they are doing" as if it isn't his site, as if he's posing as some genuine fan. Please tell me I'm missing some context and that isn't what it looks like because if it's what it looks like then that is deceitful.

I forgot your writing for them,

well in the 50 paged topic on Gamefaqs I saw,
they sent quite a few emails,
though to my surprise they weren't being that rude. (The emails I saw at least.)
I mean I actually see a lot worse when someone thinks Red from Pokemon red/blue is Ash. :wtc:

Hmm... that's rather unfortunate...
It just so happens there are quite a few people who know Wyldcard is FamilyFriendlyGaming...
I hope things don't get out of hand. :(

Not sure that would be a problem, honestly.

Thankfully it's only a column, not a review. I need to put something on my portfolio, you know? :/

Yeah, and I seriously doubt FFG has "millions" of readers.

page hits are not equal to readers since each reader could read multiple articles, he said that he got 700,000 impressions from gamefaqs alone. He even got a death threat.

For what it's worth CCG gets roughly 8,000 a day with obvious spikes when we post "hot" reviews

He didn't say he got millions of hits. He specifically said he had millions of readers. That's deceptive.

I might have been able to give the benefit of the doubt on the millions of readers thing because maybe if someone really doesn't know any better he could confuse hits with unique readers. Or maybe FFG really is that popular. However, he's lost that benefit of the doubt now. I don't trust him.

This thing about pretending to be a fan of his own site is shady. I did some, uh, investigating and he's rather persistent at it. For instance:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997779-k ... 868?page=4
"I am a Christian who supports, appreciates and celebrates Family Friendly Gaming. They are true to their convictions. I would like to see more people like them in every corner of the world."
Excuse me while I laugh my own throat out.

Another one:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997836-s ... d/58702415

The first response there is great. He's not fooling anyone.

If I have one shred of doubt saying Paul Bury isn't a liar, then it's because no one can be this inept at lying. He praises FFG in his signature, anyone who has interacted with him ever can tell who he is based on his writing style and catchphrases, the predecessor magazine to Family Friendly Gaming was called Wyldcard's Way, and at the bottom line anyone with half a brain can look at Wyldcard's posts and tell he's shilling for his own site. So maybe I'm overreacting right now and he's intentionally playing a game and expects everyone else to be in on the joke. But on the other hand, I've often wondered that about his whole persona over the years. Is it some kind of act? I'd say it was except I can't imagine someone putting that much all-consuming effort into trolling.

I think Truthseeker isn't celebrating Paul's diversity. :|
