Anyone used GameFly?

Great for talking hardware, hype, and games outside traditional genres.

If anyone has used Gamefly, please tell me how good it is. My family (mother, father and siblings) are planning on using it. Looks pretty l'git. But can someone tell anyway? I've looked at the service but tell me, please.

I've been using it over a year and it's pretty nice. You make your queue of games, and they'll send you the games based on the order of the queue and what they have in stock. Generally, you'll get something in the top 5, and it shows the demand for a game, so you can see the chances of you getting a particular game. It's a bit harder to get the games that just came out, but if you don't mind waiting, it's nice.

Also, over time, you accrue "gamefly" bucks which you can use to purchasing games through them (they'll expire, though, so you'll probably have a maximum of $10 at a time), and they honestly have pretty good sales on used games from time to time. I was able to get games like L.A. Noire for free.

They also added their PC games section, which is pretty nice. You download their client and have access to their library of games that you can download and play as much as you'd like. They won't be the games that just came out, but they have a pretty good collection.

I haven't been playing much console games at all, lately, but their Unlimited Play for PC games kept me there. I still might end my subscription, but not because of their service, just because haven't used them much lately.

@Arch-That sounds pretty epic. I've been thinking about checking it out.

Does the site get sweet gamefly kickbacks when we do? If so, I will do it for sure if I end up going for it. It probably won't be until October (SO MUCH WORK/MOVING INTO NEW HOUSE).

Edit: I will also use the banners anyway regardless of sweet kickbacks. I hope it didn't sound like I was trying to milk it.

You response to my question made me think about one of Sinbad's comedy stand ups. He was talking about "how brothas can sound convincing". And considering Gamefly is pretty convincing, and how people wish they could try Gamefly:

Sinbad:

You know how brothas can sound convincing? A brother walked up to me one time and said, "Ay-yo, my brother. You need to clean your colon." I said, "Yeah, I heard about that." And he like, "See the thing is you got waste IMPACTED in your colon." I said, "Well, we might wanna break that up."

I'ma tell you something right now: you cannot clean your colon and keep your friends. Cause you will STINK I'm sorry."

(end quote)

You would actually have to watch it to understand. If you have Netflix, you can get it on instant watch. Look for "Sinbad: Afros and Bellbottoms".. His jokes are pretty clean. NO CURSING AT ALL.
