So I don't know how many here play tabletop wargames, but I thought I'd share a few pics of the armies I'm working on. Hopefully others will share theirs too! (Get crackin' Chozon )O
All of these minis were painted using acrylic paint (My favorite is Valejo but there's also some P3 and Citadel in these.) And yes, this is my own work. Nobody paints my minis for me
This is my Arcanists crew (for Malifaux), so far I've completed Rasputina, 3 Ice Gamins and an Essence of Power.
My Arcanists:
The Essence of Power close up and a couple Ice Gamins
It depends... if it's part of a large unit then each individual mini gets relatively little detail. I'll post some examples from my Warhammer force, but one of those can be done in a couple of hours. If it's one that gets more individual attention it can take a couple days. The Kreoss Warcaster took me 3 days, the Fire of Salvation took 3... The unit of Cinerators probably about a week.
I plan to post from my Warhammer armies next, but first I gotta get them out of their cases 'cause those are my tournament armies
Chozon1 wrote:Dude. Nice...how did you do the bases to make them look like snow?
Thanks! The snow is from model railroad scenery snow, with a white undercoat since the stuff tends to be pretty translucent. The ice is from a gel-like water effects substance I got from a gaming store that prettymuch stinks for what I wanted it for but it was perfect for this.
ccgr wrote:So is it an insult if a guy shows up to a tournament with unpainted miniatures?
Some people do take umbrage at somebody showing up to play with unpainted minis, and in fact most tournaments require 3 colors minimum in an army. There's a practical reason, though... If you're playing an opponent whose entire army is primer gray, it can be tough to distinguish different unit types from one another, and that's a real issue in a tournament.

One day when I have the time and motivation, I could post some of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles and 40k figures I got on my shelf. Haven't played or painted them for ages, but you might've sparked old fire a little bit with these fotos here need to find a motivated gaming group maybe first.
