Yes. I love them. XD
Not sure any of them but Metroid Prime 3 and mayhaps Other M count as shooters though.

Eh... I'd count all three Metroids as "first person adventures"... but technically, since they're first person and involve shooting... why not?

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

MGS is third person and involves shooting...why not call it a TPS?
It's the fact that the FPS genre includes epics and trash, and and Metroid Prime series has shooting more as a primary attack than the method of the game.
MP3...I dunno. Felt almost linear.

Wasna correcting you, just offering my opinion. I've not checked, but I think they're listed under the FPS genre. I just don't, and never will, consider them as such.
Same with Half Life. And it's pretty much definitively an FPS; those games, and these, are just so much deeper than Halo, or even CoD.

No, you nubs, MGS is top-down, and always has been, except for MGS3: Subsistence and MGS4.Chozon1 wrote:MGS is third person and involves shooting...why not call it a TPS?
Just my opinion, but Half-Life... isn't exactly deep.Chozon1 wrote:Wasna correcting you, just offering my opinion. I've not checked, but I think they're listed under the FPS genre. I just don't, and never will, consider them as such.

MGS is top down? Mah bad...felt like it came from a third person perspective. XD
And...that's why you're still a kid.

Haven't played it either. Can't afford it, for one...but I'm also wary about it being too much like Ninja Gaiden.

Yes!!!!! I've been playing the old Gamecube "Metroid Prime" on the Wii and this game has absolutely blown me away. I haven't experienced anything like this since I played Half-Life. But this thread reminds me, I haven't touched the game in several months. I really need to get back to it. I was getting into some really juicy part of the story and game last I played. I also have one of the old Metroid games on the GBA as well. I can't remember which one, though.
