Many Christians are familiar with the Adventures in Odysseyradio series. If you are not familiar with it I strongly recommend checking it out. This game has some familiar characters. You will play as Whit, Eugene and Connie.
Story
A rock with a note is thrown through Eugene\'s window. It demanding a treasure map that he has not heard of before. Eugene\'s parents were archeologists that have been missing for years and they have not given him a map. So a few questions remain, who is this person and why are they threatening Eugene for this map. Finally, how did they find him? With the help of Connie and Whit you will get to the bottom of this.
Game Play
Each character will be looking for clues. There are magnifying glass icons that light up when you found something good. Once all of them are lit up you will then switch to another character or meet together and move onward. Connie mostly does internet searches using the Odyssey search engine. Whit looks for evidence by scanning the note, dates artifacts, and constructs a trap with your help. Eugene is pretty smart and with him you\'ll decode a diary written in the Incan language using different colored knots. When the group goes to Peru there will be various puzzles to complete such as de-scrambling maps and refracting prism beams in the right direction.
Graphics
The graphics in this game are cartoon like and very colorful. No high-powered 3D video card required.
Sound
The voice acting and background music was great, the same as you would hear on the radio show.
Interface
If you can use a computer mouse then you will have no problem playing this game. It\'s very easy to maneuver. There were just some times when I would click my characters to go somewhere and they went in the opposite direction. But overall easy to get around and play.
Appropriateness
This game teaches great morals and values. There are a couple times where Eugene jumps to conclusions and Whit tells him not to be so hasty and to wait for more evidence.
Final Thoughts
Although this game seemed a little short it was definitely fun. It\'s a kids game but some of the puzzles will challenge adults. There are some extras on the CD like a Jukebox Mixer and \'The Cross of Cortez\' episode you can listen to. I would highly recommend this title to any Christian family.
