My Life on a Farm 3D doesn't have much of a story other than a city girl packing up and starting her life as an organic farmer for a peaceful change of scenery.  She aspires to have the best organic farm in the world.  To earn that title, seventeen tasks must be completed in any order you desire.

To adjust to the game's mechanics and quirks, I highly recommend doing them in order.  Each task has specific goals that must be completed in order to earn stars for completing them.  There is no time limit and you can get distracted by customer orders instead of fulfilling the scenario's objectives.

Sadly there are no tutorials, but the game's digital manual is helpful.   Just like the 3D Vet games, you can order food for your animals from your office computer and it will be instantly added to your inventory.  In order to feed the animals you have to be carrying some food in your food bag.

My Life on a Farm 3D
Highlights:

Strong Points: Can convert play coins to in-game currency
Weak Points: Unrealistic orders placed by customers; too much work for one person to do; jobs are tedious and not very fun
Moral Warnings: None

You can go into town to buy ingredients and medicine for the animals .  While this isn't a vet game, you do have to keep tabs on their overall health, appetite, hygiene, exercise, company, demand, and training levels.   Petting livestock is optional - however, feeding and cleaning their pens daily is required.

Animals can be purchased from local farmers looking to unload their livestock to you.  Thankfully when I bought a chicken named Jeff, I still got eggs from it daily.  Besides peddling animals, people will place orders for your organic goods.  Many of these orders are impossible to complete when you're first starting out.  Thankfully when an order is incomplete the customers are the ones apologizing saying "I'm sorry it didn't work out" instead of realistic responses like  "Where are the 27 pies that I ordered and needed in 2 days?"

Though the gameplay is rather bland, I don't see too many kids honestly enjoying this game.  Harvesting fruit, nuts, fish, and vegetables is done by walking around and tapping them with the stylus.  After a couple of in-game hours, you can tap on them again to grab some more.    Many items can only be harvested once a day.  Ironically, those are the items that people want forty or more of in a single order.

Score Breakdown:
Higher is better
(10/10 is perfect)

Game Score - 48%
Gameplay - 5/20
Graphics - 6/10
Sound - 5/10
Stability - 5/5
Controls - 3/5 Morality Score - 100%
Violence - 10/10
Language - 10/10
Sexual Content - 10/10
Occult/Supernatural - 10/10
Cultural/Moral/Ethical - 10/10

Some items can be harvested with a tractor on sunny days only.  Despite the clear looking sky, there are a lot of rainy days apparently.  I like how the tractor can be controlled with the motion sensor or the touch screen.  Besides riding around in tractors, there are other mini-games like milking cows, shearing sheep, gathering  wood, and locating truffles with a pig.

Besides caring for and working with animals, you're expected to harvest ingredients and bake organic cookies, pies, and cakes.  It would be great if there was a way to delegate some of the tasks to others, but no.  So not only is the work boring, there's way too much of it.

As if the gameplay isn't unappealing enough, the visuals and sound track aren't anything special either.  Given that the word 3D is in the game's title, the 3D effects are rather minimal.  The dots representing people and animals on the map are on a different layer if you have the 3D turned on.   That's the extent of the 3D effects.

There isn't any voice acting so if you decide to part with $20 for this game, make sure your child can read.  The background music is repetitive and doesn't fit the game very well.   It's not as obnoxious as the music in Me and My Pets 3D though.

While  My Life on a Farm 3D is a family friendly game, when it comes down to it, it's just not a very fun one.  There are better farming games out there, like the Harvest Moon and Rune Factory series.  Those games are more entertaining for your money.
