Game Devs of Color Expo Direct: Immersive Maze Adventure Go North Drops New Demo and Trailer Today Ahead of Q1 2026 Launch
Seek out the Maze God and earn a wish on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S later in 2026
LAGOS, NIGERIA — Sept. 16, 2025 — Go North, the atmospheric maze adventure game developed by one-man studio gazuntype, wanders through today’s Game Devs of Color Expo Direct with a brand new trailer revealing Nintendo Switch and Xbox versions, alongside a new PC demo launching today ahead of its release on Steam in Q1 2026.
One singular wish is all Dara desires, but true to the Maze God’s name, the path to find him proves to be literally labyrinthian. Each of his mazes follows one simple rule: the exit is always north. Wander through beautiful landscapes of thicketed forests, twisted indoor corridors, floating sky islands connected by manmade bridges and ladders, and more in an immersive maze adventure fueled by cleverly designed webs of interwoven paths.
Go North showcases the award-winning creativity coming out of West Africa as a breath of fresh, innovative air for the industry. Solo developer Tade Ajiboye took cues from the sense of wonder woven throughout exploration adventure games like A Short Hike and Journey, all while adding his own sense of mystique and intrigue. From the start, Go North has been constructed as a welcoming adventure for all.
Take a moment and breathe. Look around. Explore at your own pace without penalty as unknown characters, items, and environmental traps await discovery around every corner. Meet curious characters like the Maze Makers responsible for the location’s devilish twists and turns, and run into others trying to conquer the mazes for themselves.
Unearth lost items forgotten by time, imbued with a mixture of magic and technology. Send flying mystical birds into the sky to scout for paths, or fly up into the air in a bubble to get a lay of the land with your own eyes. Use magical powder to lead towards the exit, drop abandoned street signs as breadcrumbs, speed around on a hoverboard, and utilize any other found remnants of civilization to reach the goal, just remember: always go north.
“Whether you're looking for a relaxing experience or you're a daring speedrunner, Go North has so much to offer,” said Tade Ajiboye, owner of gazuntype. “If you want to take all the time in the world to search every nook and cranny, you will be rewarded with rare items. If you want to find the nearest hoverboard and speed to the exit faster than anyone else, you can do that, too.”
Go North is planned for launch in Q1 2026 on PC via Steam with Nintendo Switch and Xbox versions on the way.
