IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows Launches Demo and Kickstarter

Fast-paced combat, kill-or-be-killed tension, and dating sim elements combine in this one-of-a-kind "kungfu-noir" game inspired by a Buddhist myth coming in 2027

TALLINN, ESTONIA - September 16, 2025 - Independent game developer Mishura Games is thrilled to release the first IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows playable demo to coincide with a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. IMMORTAL has coined the "kungfu-noir" sub-genre, combining unexpected elements such as prison drama, Devil May Cry-inspired combos, Hotline Miami “kill or be killed” tension, fast-paced intricate platforming as found in Prince of Persia, and even dating sim elements as players aid Fudo in his escape and engage with inmates in Buddha's prison. As announced last week, IMMORTAL's progress and demo release are a triumph over personal and professional trauma, escaping the prison of the past that included public litigation, studio closures, and more. The demo can be found on Steam, which is linked directly from the Kickstarter page:

The IMMORTAL Kickstarter campaign begins today and will continue for 30 days with a base funding goal of €25,000. Copies of the game will be available at the €20 (approximately $23.50 USD) support level with add-ons, including the game's soundtrack, stunning wallpapers, beta access, and designing the game's attacks, locations, and enemies available at higher support tiers. With a modest funding goal to complete development, some stretch goals are already planned, including language support, additional release platforms, and a special guest song featuring Scarlet Moon's Shinji Hosoe (TEKKEN, Street Fighter EX, Zero Escape series) and vocalist Nami Nakagawa (Demon Slayer, NieR, God Eater). IMMORTAL is planned for release on PC in 2027 with base funding and will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox if additional stretch goals are met.

"We are incredibly excited to finally put the fate of our beloved creation into the hands of those who supported and cared us throughout the years—the public," notes Mishura Games. "We hope that our 'publisher' becomes the free internet!"
