1000 Deaths Launches Today on PC, PS5 Version on the Horizon

Break the laws of gravity to bend reality and overcome surreal 3D platforming challenges

MUMBAI/BROOKLYN — Aug. 7, 2025 — 1000 Deaths, the award-winning psychedelic 3D platformer where choices dramatically alter the story and gameplay, is available now on PC via Steam. Developer Pariah Interactive also announces that a PlayStation 5 demo will be available soon.

Follow the lives of Vayu, Maxie, Terry, and Boga from birth to death, choosing their fates while their worlds get turned upside down. Redefine the laws of gravity with TeeVee, a CRT television that runs and jumps through levels that represent the inner thoughts of the four protagonists.

Each decision you make reveals a new platforming hub as part of the overworld, each node branching out from the choices you make, leading to a dozen endings. Stomp out a desire for power — or stoke it. Assuage a creeping nihilism — or embrace it. These decisions impact not just the plot, but unlock levels themed around the protagonists, all with different mechanics to explore.

Utilize nimble movement techniques and your trusty jetpack to complete stages, and discover hidden, hand-animated Broadcasts. These clips, created with claymation, pixel art, and 3D animation, reveal more about what makes the characters tick. Speedrunners will find plenty of nuances to the movement techniques to shave their times down, and the Arcade mode’s 45-plus levels will put your skills to the test.

“1000 Deaths is about so much more than improving speedrunning times and mastering movement,” said Prashast Thapan, founder of Pariah Interactive. “We’re excited to see how players break their own records, but the whole experience is underlined by drastic decisions. Our mascot, TeeVee, is constantly reflecting the characters’ desires back to them on its screen. The crux of 1000 Deaths is examining those desires and the effect they have on our decision-making.”

1000 Deaths straps on a jetpack and laces up today on PC via Steam for $14.99 with a 10% launch discount, with language support for text in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. A PlayStation 5 version and demo are currently in development.
