Check out the release date announcement trailer here:
Formula Legends development has been driven by the team’s passion and knowledge of competitive motorsport, but this new release is being designed as an experience for all racing game fans, featuring arcade-like approachability and plenty of optional driving assists that allow anyone to have a good time regardless of their skill level.
Tyre-wear, fuel consumption, track evolution, damage simulation and changeable racing conditions are also borrowed from the racing simulation genre which creates a ‘sim-cade’ blend that makes racing challenging, unpredictable, fully customisable, and most importantly, fun.
Don’t just take our word for it though, starting today everyone can sample Formula Legends for free by downloading a new demo for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 platforms. The Nintendo Switch demo will launch on Nintendo eShop, 14th August.
3DClouds released the first Formula Legends public alpha demo during June’s Steam Next Fest event when it was played by over 50,000 players in just one week. The new demo, available today, introduces new content alongside a long list of community requested improvements and features. Here’s a quick summary:
Two Game Modes – Custom Race and Time Attack
Two Tracks – Belgium and Hungary (Classic and Modern variants)
Three Iconic Racing Eras – Mid ‘70s, Early ‘90s, Mid ‘20s (each era is accompanied with a full set of cars, teams and drivers specific to the time).
New Extreme Weather - Races can now be conducted in sunny, overcast, wet and stormy conditions to provide additional challenge.
Fully Customizable Gameplay – Select opponent difficulty, drive assists, qualifying format, race rules, duration and more options to suit your play style.
New Camera Modes – 3DClouds has added multiple new behind the rear wing camera options and based on overwhelming demand from fans a new cockpit cam which makes racing more intense than ever.
Improved Handling Model and AI – Formula Legends now has sharper braking performance across all eras, more responsive handling with less input delay and improved competitor AI for more compelling wheel-to-wheel racing.
“Formula Legends has evolved massively since we announced the game earlier in the year and this new demo is another opportunity for us to learn and evolve the experience as we accelerate to launch,” said Francesco Bruschi, CEO of 3DClouds. “Formula Legends has been a labour of love for the entire team as we’re all massive motorsport fans, and we know that anyone who shares that level of passion will cherish their time with our game.”
