KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS TO DEBUT EXCLUSIVE ‘ASSASSIN’S CREED® SHADOWS’-INSPIRED TUNNEL OUTFIT
SAN ANTONIO — March 19, 2025 — Karl-Anthony Towns, five-time NBA All-Star, debuted a custom Assassin’s Creed® Shadows-inspired outfit during his tunnel walk ahead of his match up against the San Antonio Spurs.
The NBA tunnel – the pathway connecting arena entrances to locker rooms – has become a fashion runway where players showcase their style. Designed by renowned fashion director Alexander-Julian Gibbson, Towns’ look draws inspiration from the dual protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, blending the samurai Yasuke’s commanding armor with the shinobi Naoe’s sleek, tactical ninja aesthetic, reimagined with an elevated contemporary edge.
“The tunnel walk allows players to express themselves and show off their personal style,” said Towns. “As a longtime Assassin’s Creed fan, this bold fit is my way of paying tribute to Shadows.”
“For this look, we combined Karl’s love for comfort and oversized silhouettes with elements inspired by Yasuke’s samurai armor and Naoe’s sleek, tactical ninja aesthetic,” Alexander-Julian said. “We built the outfit around his personal style while incorporating key details – structured layers and sharp tailoring for Yasuke, paired with lightweight, flexible elements inspired by Naoe – to bring his vision to life.”
Available worldwide on March 20, 2025, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in feudal Japan, where the forces of vengeance and mercy collide during the country’s unification. The game introduces a dual protagonist system, featuring Naoe, a skillful ninja from Iga, and Yasuke, the powerful samurai warrior. These characters offer distinct gameplay experiences as their stories intertwine in a world where the lines between right and wrong are often blurred.
