I dont think many of you have heard of this one yet. Battle for Wesnoth is an open source, community driven turn based stratagty game. Its fun and runs on most PCs since it isnt a very demanding game, there is also an unofficial port for Android.

This is one of my favorites. I'd call it closer to a strategy game than an RPG, though.
I think it's more famous on Linux based OS's than Windows. Still, I love it.
