Don't need more than a pen torch, they sell ring sized bar stock. Mostly a matter off hammering it around a mandrel.
But congrats man. about dang time.

for grins I would check out overstock.com my brother in law got an incredible deal on his titanium ring for under $100 methinks

You do pay an elevated price with a jeweler, but there are a couple things to consider. I used Kay and I felt I did pretty well in terms of diamond to price for my wife's engagement ring. I got financing through them at 0% so that helped spread the cost around. They also provide periodic free cleanings and inspections, and waranties for the diamond and ring. A little piece of mind.
Also, monopolized scam diamonds are a
scam (Some language and stuff).

Yeah, I watched some stuff about conflict diamonds and that made me a li'l uneasy about some sources of shinies

Anyway, I've, ahem, picked a time and a place. She very occasionally browses the forums, so I cannot leaks teh info >_> it isn't for a li'l bit though. We've both got a lot to do with school right now and I want this to be free of that stress
EDIT: of this particular semester, I mean, not free of school as in "until we both graduate" or something

I don't think the jeweler's will be touting those 2 C's, but certainly important from a consumer standpoint!
