Maybe you can't. But there's a few planets I can't recommend visiting with that attitude.

I'm beginning to think you guys are just jelli.
Usually, if someone is this vehement against a child's TV show, it's vindictiveness over the supposed belief that they cannot watch it themselves because of various silly reasons.
Pony haters.

I think unlike most haters of My Little Pony, I actually watched the first handful of episodes because a friend demanded it. I assure you that our frustration has grounds. I mean, people can like whatever show they like, I don't really care. For me, the problem is when men start trying to apply all these justifications for what is, as far as I can tell, a bizarre impulse to watch something just because it's counter-culture or... I dunno, I dunno what the attraction is. I've known some great bronies, and I'd continue being friends with them if not for their interest in the show generally becoming so obsessive that it defines them. I just think that it's frankly no different than any other girl's television show full of flowers and ponies, and there's some hidden reasons for why it's got this masculine attraction to it. Maybe it's because they're outcasts and they find solace in a group of outcasts and the show just gives them a name and a place. Heck, I've been in the same place in my life, so I'm not going to judge. I'm just tired of seeing people envelope themselves in something that almost inevitably turns into a very damaging, very unfortunate obsession. For myself, I view it as a problem, and despite all my teasing, I think it needs to be seriously dealt with.
In the meantime, I'm sure that the hazing and the "U MAD BRO" feuds will continue going on. Each side only fuels the other. WE ARE FATED TO BE OPPOSED.

When I was told by my brony friends about why MLP: FIM is really good, they told me because of the writing....like humor and culture references.
So I watched a few episodes of the show (episodes from both from season 1 and 2), and while the show isn't bad....I didn't catch the references and when they were pointed out, they were buried within the context of the show. I also felt that while the writers do make attempts at humor, I didn't find it that funny. Perhaps my standard was set too high? Like when I think of really great animated humor, I think of Emperor's New Groove (a movie my brony friends are also a fan of).
So, in a nutshell. I looked past the girlish surface and gave it a shot with an open mind, but I wasn't impressed.

Sometimes I can be a wet blanket, but I felt like this thing needed some perspective. If I'm going to be the bad guy, I want my reasons to be known. >.>Thanks for the super serious, well-thought-out post CK.
And that, to some degree, is exactly my problem with it, LAVA. I'm not asking dudes to say the show sucks or not like it, I'm asking them to really look at why they like it so freaking much. Writing and relevancy and stylishness just doesn't cut it for me when there are any number of other cartoons on the same level as this. In my experience, there's always, ALWAYS been something more. Case in point:
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to buy that this dude likes My Little Pony for the writing and not because he's a deeply troubled individual.
Maybe I'm a jerk-butt for pestering the issue, maybe I should just let them have whatever they want (and it's true, we live in a free country, so they can and I don't take issue with that, but I hate disengaged thinking about stuff like this). Ironically, though, like I said before, my insistence only fuels them. My Little Pony gives these guys a sense of identity, something to fight for, however ridiculous it may be, and as long as people like me say "hey, I've been where you are, you're not really looking at the situation with open eyes," they'll be there to say "but my eyes have never been more open in my life." About My Little Pony. ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY. You can understand my sheer bewilderment because oh my god
With that said, I realize there are some dudes who just like My Little Pony. I will never understand that, but whatever, man. I'm not saying liking My Little Pony makes you troubled, I'm just saying that overwhelmingly in my experience, bronies are some of the most indiscriminate, voracious, forceful fans that I know. "Fans" isn't even really an appropriate word. It goes beyond fandom. It's a way of life.
Also, if you're looking for more agony:
EDIT: LUL THERE IS LANGUAGE THAT I FORGOT ABOUT SO BEWARE
