realy Walmart sorry bad idea that place is So undefend able
I say costco, close their big iron doors and climb on top of the roof. It's big and flat and play Zombie hunt Lol jk
But i still say Costco or the lake or somewhere in the mountains i'll take around 5 guns, 10 knives, 5 crates of ammo, a good off road truck, my friends to man the guns while someone drives, and a few swords from army navy and about 5 crates of water, and a water purifier and A LOT of canned food and my bow and arrows. How could i leave my bow behind and a few books and lumber from home depot, and a ton of arrows for my bow and snow shoes, and a radio receiver and transmitter and a lighting setup and a generator and a Lot of car bateries
...your plans...they're like...laughable. I'm just gonna wait til winter. Which, you know, is sooo much simpler than trying to mall ninja the zombies to death. Which is actually rather amusing, since ya'll apparently are so full of machismo that you think you can look a human being in the eyes and kill them, while being splattered in rotten flesh and stale blood, and not vomit when what's left of their bowels empty. Not to mention how many of them will probably be friends, family, neighbors, that girl you have a crush on.
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do - Robert A Heinlein

So does anyone besides Oro know how to actually survive the zombie apocalypse? Because when the zombies come, I'd prefer if I wasn't alone for the rest of my life.
Orodist hit a good point. Unless you are into survivalism now, when something like a zombie apocalypse hits then you will have no idea how to survive. Shot guns are a poor choice for a weapon. They're loud and in a pinch you can do little with them when they are out of ammo. Blades don't need reloading. You do not put yourself in a place where you have to fight unless you need to. This means avoiding any highly populated area. Though supplies seem tempting, your best bet is to head out in the wilderness. It's not worth dealing with the mobs.
Cars, trucks, even motorcycles are a bad idea. Horses, bicycles, and on foot is your best option. Noise is not your friend so the less of it you make the better. In addition, you can not rely on anything that has the possibility of breaking down, running out of fuel, or drawing attention to yourself.
To survive you need stealth as an ally. Move only in the day and find yourself in an easily defensible spot at night (like in a tree or perhaps a room with a solid door and no window). Unless you know how to live off of the land, the best thing to keep on you is high calorie foods that are light weight like jerky or hostess cupcakes. When at all possible eat fresh foods (like when you encounter a garden or perhaps a grocery store that is safe). You greatest weapon is your health. Take good care of your feet. Keep that in mind at all times. Keep several pairs of dry socks with you so that you can change them regularly. If you can find it, get foot powder. If your feet get hurt or infected, you're dead.
You need to keep your end game in mind at all times. Where are you going to survive for the long term. If you do not have this in mind, regardless of where you end up you will eventually die of starvation, sickness, or even exposure to the elements long before you are bitten by a zombie.
For your end game you need to keep a few things in mind.
1. Is it easily defensible and if so, are the defenses already strong and sturdy? You don't want to spend too much time having to fortify it. Not to mention that you may not have the resources to do so anyway.
2. Does it have a diverse allotment of amenities (IE: Hospital, living quarters, armory, open land to plant crops, etc)?
3. How far away would the ideal location be and is it possible in realistic terms to get there? If not, what is your second, third, or even fourth choice?
It's not about what you know, but if you are able to find the information you are looking for. You may not have access to the internet during times of crisis so your best bet is to make sure that wherever you end up there is a library or bookstore nearby. If you find yourself with an infection or for some reason you can't keep a fire lit then you need to have resources available that will teach you what you need to know when you need to know it.
Jeremiah 20:9-But if I say, "I will not mention him or speak any more in his name," his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
