It's like...I have a good day, then I listen to what other people say, and I'm instantly irate.

Because really the world needs a lot more good smackaroos

On the topic of not kissing to marriage, I won't commend someone on their willpower, faith, or what not. It's just a bad idea propagated by overprotective parents who can't stand the idea of their precious daughter kissing some boy. Next step, they'd be a prostitute!
Okay, well, it's generally just a bad idea. Before you get married, you need to know your partner, and this includes romantically. Is it so terrible to show some affection? This idea of no kissing goes hand in hand with the mentality of no dating, courtship (which is an even worse idea). It's culturally regressive. How is the idea of preventing the exploration of romance and affection until after you locked yourself into a lifelong commitment.
If we want to go with slippery slope arguments, the next step is arranged marriages. I'm not saying many of the parents who teach no kissing till marriage support the idea, but they don't necessarily think it's a bad idea, either.

I was one of those kids who said they wouldn't kiss their special someone until their wedding day. Yes, I have a purity ring.
...
Oh well.

The past tense and the oh well was supposed to imply that I've had my fair share of smooching.

As a friend of mine said, "something can be said for the harm that can be done by a lack of passion in a relationship."
Anyway I only bring this up because I work on a farm part time along with my other job and I literally grew up with everyone who works there and there are still some soon-to-be college freshmen who haven't really changed since... well... ever.

I think I'm just jaded, considering most of the *ahem* 'affectionate' relationships I've know ended up with a kid before marriage (multiple times, with multiple marriages), and then divorced. -1+ year later.
It'd be one thing if this happened to just one person. But I know of...at least four.

While four is still statistically insignificant considering the multitude of marriages you see around with varying "success" rates (whatever you might consider that to be), there's no doubt that there's plenty, and there's plenty that ended up just fine.
And there's plenty of the so many of the "courtship, no such-and-such relationships that ended the same way. And there are those who did work out.
Turns out, you can't simply slap a rule on something to fix an issue.
