I'm just trying to get my feet wet in the arcane programming world before college hits and leaves me smeared against the wall. Though I think I'm actually going to be learning visual basic first, so I may go look that up.

Yeah, but then you have to write in... Java. With that whole java api thing, too.

Visual Basic it is. But not now. Next semester. Which is mildly pleh.

No choice. It's just what the college does. I plan on learning a few others though, just make my resume perhaps stand out a bit when I gradjiate.
