Theory
I've had a theory rolling around in my head for some time. People often drive their cars like they push shopping carts in grocery stores.

I'm confused. That's a fact, so where's the theory?

I'll validate this.
I'm surrounded by people who never look at what they're doing and trouncing about slowly, while I'm trying to maneuver around them, safely and swiftly.
Someday I'm going to just crack and push my way through.
There's going to be a horrified old lady with an overturned car(t).

It seems that the most annoying of people, are certain groups of people who own big vehicles like trucks and suvs, because it seems as though this is what they are likely thinking.... "Get outta my way, I rule the road!" And then, there is the group of people who are instantaneously distracted by anything in their car. "Oooooh, I need to call x on my flashy I-Phone!" or "Oh, I don't like that song, I'd better change the radio station." or "I've got to look for my makeup." While they are driving and not paying attention.
And... if you have ever been aggrivated by shoppers in general, then you may or may not relate to this.

Over here, it's usually the truck and suv drivers that drive recklessly. They annoy me a lot when I drive my Accent.
About your story, I don't think I've ever seen someone deal with customers like that before when I worked as a clerk. Then again, I never really looked in that directions anyways.

Over here, people are more distracted by what I call "shinys". These are the same sorts of people that usually have their shopping cart loaded. So, it can become tiresome at times, because you know management is going to look at you, if anything happens to their stuff, even if it were the customer's own fault.
