Spoiler:
Brokan looks the tooth-gnashing creature straight in its maggot-ridden eyes. Hatred wells up deep in Brokan's throat. Do not let your emotion override your reason, Broken thought to himself, you have a mission. On the other hand, he was tasked with keeping travelers safe in the woods, and no one was safe as long as this foul thing existed.

Brokan, holding his spear in both hands, positions himself exactly 20 feet away from the creature. With all the strength in his arms, he hurtles the weapon directly at the creature.

Ranged attack roll (1d20 + 1 dex - 1 buckler) = [dice]0[/dice]
Damage if there is a hit (1d8 + 3 for strength when using two-handed thrown weapon) = [dice]1[/dice]

Spoiler:
The unholy creature takes the hit through the chest. It seems to pass right through the soft, rotting organs. The creature shambles forward and takes a swipe at you. He digs his disgusting claws deep into your skin causing 6 hp dmg.

Spoiler:
Brokan winced at the injury. He would be hard pressed to survive another attack like that.

With uncanny swiftness, Brokan dashes 80 ft away from the monster (using the withdraw action to move twice my speed without provoking an attack of opportunity for leaving the monster's threatened space). Brokan keeps the monster in his view, trying to maintain a clear line of sight between him and the monster. This is not a retreat. This is a tactical repositioning for the next round of battle.

Spoiler:
The creature shambles toward you, clearing the distance of 30 feet.
The party continues on the trail. Suddenly they are halted at the sight of a small wood cart flipped over, it's contents are spilled into the trail. As you approach, you notice a disturbing scene. The bodies of small humanoids lay torn apart. In the middle of the disgusting display is a human, no something more. Some kind of creature, creature knelt over. The sound of flesh tearing coming form it. It seems preoccupied with its meal.

((Make a listen check DC 13. If you pass read this.))
Spoiler:
You hear a scuffle come from the left hand side. It sounds like combat of sorts and someone running.

Almost overwhelmed by the horror at what he is seeing, Guy barely retains control of his rage as he draws his weapon and shield. "CrimsonRose!" He points his weapon to the left. "To our left! Look sharp!" His next sound is a roar as the battle fury descends over him and he charges the beast in front of him, his last calm thought is I hope Kratimos is with me...

Brokan, catching his breath, sneers in a small satisfaction. They're slow. Brokan weighed his options. He could certainly evade this creature, find the group he had been tasked with escorting, and hopefully convince them to hunt down this creature together. Yet, in the meantime there would be no telling how much damage to the woods the monster would inflict. No, Brokan would make his stand.

Brokan draws his scimitar (move action), and with his free hand he begins channeling the power of nature. "Does your dead flesh burn?" Brokan speaks Druidic chants to cast produce flame. Fire appears in his hand and he throws it at the monster.

Spoiler:
You hear a great and furious roar coming from the trail. The sound of a man in the grips of rage.

The creature shambles forward, bumping into trees and shrubs clearing 30 feet. As it approaches, the ball of fire connects with its torso and burns away the flesh. The creature continues forward, as if unharmed by the fire despite the obvious damage it caused.
((Ok, this round is a surprise round for the creature meaning everyone gets an attack. Normally, we would be rolling for initiative to see who goes first. When everyone makes their move, with the exception of TS who is in a separate encounter, then the creature will have the chance to respond and we roll initiative.))

Not entirely sure what to do, Minather puts his spell book away and remains as quiet as possible. He slowly takes out his quarterstaff.

Spoiler:
Brokan hears the noise from the enraged man. Making one's presence known to strangers in the woods is generally unwise, but these are exigent circumstances. He calls out in response: "THERE IS AN UNDEAD IN THESE WOODS! FIGHT OR FLEE, BUT BE WARNED THAT NEITHER SPEAR NOR FIRE CAN STOP IT."

((Keeping that in spoilers bc I don't know who can hear it))

He faces the shambling monster. "The soil will not be denied your rotten husk, foul one."

Brokan flies into a rage. He steps toward the creature and hacks madly with his scimitar.

((Using my rage ability. +4 to Strength, +4 to Con, +2 hp, +2 will, -2 AC, lasts for 7 rounds. Adjusted character sheet accordingly.))

With the fury of untamed nature, you decapitate the foul being. It's body falls lifeless ((unlifeless?)) to the ground.
Minather
Spoiler:
I'm assuming you prepared spells in the morning. Please come up with a current prepared spell list if you don't have it prepared. Moving forward, you have to have your spells picked out in advance for the day ahead. ((if you don't have them picked out that is)).
Crimson
Spoiler:
You race to the left in time to see a raging man decapitate a walking corpse with with a spear through it's abdomen.

CrimsonBlade quickly examines the gruesome scene and asks the man Who are you and what is your purpose here? She is still clenching her dagger ready to strike if his answer does not satisfy her.

Brokan wrenches his spear from the dead thing's corpse and sheaths it across his back. His body continues to quiver with rage. He remembered hearing a commotion from the woods and he may need this anger yet. He turned around and a woman with a dagger was asking his identity. He tried to form words through the spitting rage that was fueling him.

"I AM BROKAN AND MY PURPOSE IS . . . PURPOSE . . . DESTROY. YOUR DAGGER WILL NOT . . . DESTROY. NEED SWORD. REMOVE HEAD. GAHHHHHH!"

Brokan runs madly into the woods towards the noises he heard earlier, screaming.

Edit: I don't think its overreaching to assume that's crimson talking to me based on the fact that the noise I heard was obviously ArcticFox and he signaled to Crimson to go after something in the woods that was more likely than not me. If I'm getting this wrong we can back up.

Edit2: Yeah . . . I just now peaked at CCGR's spoiler to confirm what I assumed. I'll resist the temptation from now on I promise.
