Well, I think it's awesome. XD They look like troops with freshly polished armor.

Thankya. I'll post more as I complete them. I'm really looking forward to the other units that I bought new from ForgeWorld. They have a lot more detail and I've been using custom parts from 3rd party manufacturers to really make them unique.

Nerdish as it may be, I'm actually excited to see that. O_o Forgeworld rocks.

And here's the early results. My wife and I are working on an assault squad with jump packs. We're using ForgeWorld Mk V armor with the pre-heresy Mk V style jump packs. The heads are from MaxMini, the Shoulder pads are from Chapterhouse Studios, and the sergeant's lightning claws are from Chapterhouse.

We have 3 more assault marines to go, but we need more spray paint before we can go any further.

Edit: I had incorrectly labeled these as Mk IV armor. They are actually Mk V. My bad.

Win sir. Win.

Those jump packs are waaaaay cooler than the 'modern' ones.

I love 'em. They just released Mk IV assault marines with yet another jump pack design but I'm not a fan. I like these far better. I took these to the local GW to show them to the staff to make sure there wouldn't be a problem. You see, Games Workshop only allows the use of GW brand models when you play at this store. I think that's reasonable, since they let you use their tables for free. The thing I was worried about is that these are partially made from 3rd party accessories. ForgeWorld stuff is okay because it's owned by GW, but Chapterhouse and MaxMini aren't. Turns out, there's no problem. I think they're okay with accessories, and as I understand it, as long as the model is more than 50% made from GW parts, it won't annoy anyone.

Weird. I'd never even have thought about that. O_o

The mark IV jump packs look like the gravity nullifier thingum from Metroid Prime 2. And I'm not a fan either. XD

Continuing on trying to get all my Bretonnians done for this campaign we're on (Blood in the Badlands) I've finally painted another unit of archers (which have been sitting in my Bretonnia leftovers box for years.)

Thanks, guys.

Here's my first Tactical Squad for my Thousand Sons force for the Warhammer 30K campaign. They're the original plastic Space Marines circa 1990 (stripped, repainted and modified). The unit sergeant has a custom kopesh force weapon I modded from a Tomb Kings sprue, and his helmet is from MaxMini's Egyptian themed helmet line. The special weapon is a flamer and the heavy weapon is a Heavy Bolter.

...I still haven't gotten around to basing these.
