As an adult male I think there are different reasons guys become bronies. I'm sure there are ones who watch to be ironic hipsters. I'm also sure there are some that genuinely like it. Truthfully, I find MLP enjoyable, however I don't consider myself a brony, mostly because I think it's stupid when fanbases give themselves stupid names.

I'm just trying to make sense of one of the most bizarre cultural phenomenons I've ever seen. I don't have complaints with the show itself, because it is great for its intended audience, though I hope your daughter grows out of it and starts loving Star Wars or something soon, for your own sake. >.>

I dunno man, I divide my time between the two most hipster cities in America and I've yet to meet a brony. At this point it's lost most of its counterculture qualities and has become something out of The Twilight Zone. Gravity Falls, on the other hand, is ripe hipster pickings. But God knows "hipster" has become such a broad term it's hard to know what it applies to anymore.

I am apparently a hipster.
