I've decided to get rid of most of my models, to consolidate down to just one army per game. That means I'm getting rid of my Thousand Sons warband. If there's anything in particular you're looking for, maybe I can help you out.

Meanwhile, for Warhammer Fantasy, I'm focusing on Bretonnia, and I've been re-painting some of my knights and making general repairs to get it back into top fighting form. Pics coming soon!
I do like the Bretonnia army in Warhammer Fantasy. I have a small battalion myself so I'd be interested in seeing pics!

I don't particularly need/want any Chaos Marines... In 40K I have mostly Space Marines and a few Imperial Guard along with a small Biel-Tan Elder army. I mean, if you were getting rid of them for free and we were located close by then sure I'd take some =P

I really want to get some of the new Space Marine stuff, but wife won't let me buy more till I finish what I already have...

Hehe my wife can't lord that one over me, because she's got an incomplete Blood Angels army (just got the new codex yesterday) and I encourage her to buy new models.

So I decided to add some Mounted Yeomen to my Bretonnian army. For this, I chose Mounted Sergeants from Fireforge Games. They cost much less than the Games Workshop ones and are much higher quality... and WAY cheaper. They were a perfect model for this unit type.

The Mounted Yeomen of Bastonne:

They look quite nice!

I've got a Yellow and Red colour theme for my Bretonian army... Might take some pictures of the few units I've completed =P

Edit: I had a look at the Fireforge miniatures.... and now I want to get me a set of Foot Sergeants and some mounted Templars =P

Thanks!

Yeah you get a lot more for your money on those. The scale has the horses coming in a bit smaller than the Games Workshop ones, which is fine for me because having the Yeomen riding horses that are smaller than the knights' horses makes sense... they aren't the purebred warhorses. Not sure if the knights would look good alongside GW knights.

But man... The GW mounted yeomen are an old (and not great) sculpt and cost $15 per model... while the Fireforge Mounted Sergeants are the exact same troop type and cost $30 for 12 of them.

The only downside is they had no musical instrument, so the horn on the musician in my unit is from my bitz box. It was originally a Bretonnian Peasant Bowmen horn.

Those look great! ^_^

Happily enough, I was given a Cygnar Stormwall for Christmas, sooo....yeah. Happy times. XD I'll have pictures up as I work on it. It's going to take me awhile.

I'll stick to my overpriced miniatures that I paint for the games I hardly ever get to play I think... =P

Painted up one of my Space Crusade Dreadnaughts in similar paint scheme to my Chaos Marines. Pretty happy with how it turned out, just need to do the same with the others, and also paint the weapons as well.

Awesome. ^_^ How did you manage to get such a clean line between the colors on the top? O_o

I really like the fallen shell casings on the base. Awesome! Good work!

The Amiibo painting thing... I was looking at the comments and people are really beating up on the way the face was painted. Gotta tell ya, the shape of the face sculpt has a HUGE bearing on how it'll look when painted in detail. The Link Amiibo looks okay when not super detailed because the basic paint job is simplistic enough that imperfections and weird proportions are hidden. When you start highlighting and shading the actual shape of the face, it brings out he sculpt imperfections. IN short, if the face looks bad when the rest of the model is awesome, blame the sculpt, not the paint.

To be fair to the sculptor, it's extremely difficult to sculpt a face well at that scale. Some of the best mini sculpts I've seen have weird facial details and the most awesome paint jobs I've seen sometimes result in a great looking mini, with the face looking weird.

For instance:

It's worth noting that this example is from the Dark Sword line, which are considered some of the very best.

It's been my experience that those who complain about stuff like that usually don't paint miniatures. I have very little experience, true, but there it is. I thought his face looked pretty good, actually.
