I... love that movie, Obi. Seeing Cage run down the street with pantyhose on his head and a bag of diapers under his arm is one of my all time favorite moments in a movie.
You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

This is an older thriller, done by William Friedkin, director of one of my favorite movies ever, The French Connection, and it lives up to the Friedkin name. William Petersen, Willem Dafoe and John Turturro all turn in excellent performances, and the mid-film car chase is one to be seen. It's simply one of the best thrillers that I've ever seen, one that ranks up there with Ronin, the aforementioned French Connection, as well as L.A. Confidential.

Guillermo del Toro is amazing. While Cronos has misleading text and images on the packaging, the movie itself is a pretty chilling and ultimately bittersweet one that centers around family and plenty of gross-out moments. And of course, it has Ron Perlman. B

I know it was supposed to be the Coen's take on the older romantic comedies, but...it's really not their thing. Everything about the movie was just okay. Yes, it reflected aforementioned genre well. But that was about it. It's an example of what one of those comedies would be like today.
So what?

I waited a while for this one, mostly because I just didn't care. But I'm glad I saw it. The over-the-top action was ridiculously awesome, and the story was compelling enough to support all of that ridiculously awesome over-the-top action.
