Thank you!
I have since based them, but I'm really wanting some flock and such to make them look fancy.

This unit of Classical Greek Hoplites is meant to represent a unit of Hoplites from the city of Amphipolis during the early stages of Alexander's campaign in the north at the beginning of his reign. Specifically, these are meant to represent the unit as it may have appeared at the Battle of Mt. Haemus. These are 28mm from Warlord Games, and are based for use with the Hail Caesar system. Note the unit leader is in the rear of the formation, which historically put him in a better position to issue commands to the troops, as well as respond to those who may try and flee...

Those look awesome, but quick question...since you've never struck me as the type to do something randomly, whats with the dude with the dreads sticking out his tongue?

Hehe all the devices on the shields are based on actual historical examples. They're from the transfer sheet that came with the minis.
And thanks guys... Actually I learned after I finished this unit that in actual combat, the spears (dories) were only used for the first few moments after combat was joined... the spears tended to break quickly and they'd switch to swords. My next unit will include a few guys with swords in the front rank to represent this. I am working on a unit of hoplite minis from Wargames Factory... same scale, but they're a little larger than these. I'm not sure which ones I like better yet...

There... I went through and restored all the broken image links (except one... Can't find the pic but when I do find it I'll restore it...)
OCD satisfied.
Coming soon: I am working on 3 units, cycling between them to keep from getting sloppy.
Black Tempars Reclusiam Command Squad
Menoth Exemplar Vengers led by Intercessor Kreoss
Greek Mercenary Hoplites

And the black 13th Arcanist Gun Mages, who are reportedly quite deadly, but often killed first because of it.
