Any good games that aren't soul destroying?

Great for talking hardware, hype, and games outside traditional genres.

Oh, no problem there is actually a demo on Steam if you want to give it a try.

By the way,
with all of the Team Fortress players lately,
we should totally plan a time for all of us to play Team Fortress on our server sometime.

Although I'd probably stink, I wouldn't mind participating in a TF2 match as well. I just can't on my current MacBook. For some reason, games that it used to breeze through now make it whine and cry.

When I upgrade though (hopefully soon...) I'll be all over this. :)

Fight Night Series is pretty good. Haven't played it much, but it is still pretty fun.

Metroid, and all that good stuff.

Also, JOJ. I've been trying to message you sometimes. Did you get a chance to read them?

The new stage videos I made, did you check them out?

A friend of mine has a PS3, and I'm trying (and failing) to remember some good games he has...

If you like fighting games, I'd give the Soul Calibur series a try (though the women on there tend to dislike clothing...). Motorstorm's a pretty fun off-road racing game, and the downloadable game Journey is pretty fun, and quite relaxing. I've also heard the new All-Stars Battle Royale is pretty good, though I've yet to try it myself.

Aaaaand that's all I've got. He mostly plays God of War and Fallout, which definitely aren't the cleanest games around.

It can be hard to find a game that isn't so violent and negative these days.. I would definitely recommend some classics like Final Fantasy 7-9, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon lol

It's murder. It may be war, but's still murder.

I'm torn between starting another flame war, or just going to cry in the corner.

Well, if you're interested in TF2 you should look into this item called the Pyrovision Goggles.
They were introduced more or less as a novelty but they make the game work great as family friendly. I can trade you a pair if you don't have one already.

No wonder it whines and cries. It's a Mac. I'm surprised it wasn't doing that originally.
When you say upgrade, do you mean a better Mac? Seriously, just get a custom built desktop PC. They're thousands of dollars cheaper and much better anyway.

lol 6 was just a little before my time.. And I struggle to get into it because of that. I guess it's because we're so spoiled rotten by the graphical advances in today's games

It wasn't. The first time I played through Portal, it handled it wonderfully. But a 2 GB RAM limit and 100 Gig hard drive tarts to show its limitations after seven good, solid years....

Erm... no. For starters, I need portability, so that rules out the desktop (I could just use my wife's Mac if I wanted tower power... and she's got some power there, believe me). Secondly, I despise Micro$oft and their shoddy products and business practices, so I refuse to buy their products merely as a matter of principal.

Also, Macs are just fine for gaming machines. Sure, software selections may be more limited... but that simply means less trash to wade through to find some real gems.
