Totally love this series. It's what got me interested in my favorite game series ever (Fire Emblem) by introducing me to Marth and Roy. Brawl is easily my favorite of the games, though. And am I the only one crying out for Mega Man to be in these games?
Personally I don't really consider it a "fighting game" any more (this is what street fighter does to you kids) I still believe that melee is an incredible game. Easily the most refined and technical game in the series.
I have been a huge Nintendo fan for a very long time (over 25 years!) and was almost brought to tears when I saw what they included in brawl - super smashes, Snake, level creation, photography, single player adventure (I liked it, leave me alone!!), CG cinemas (mario and link battling - epic!), 500+ trophies, challenges, etc. - yes, Brawl is in my top 5 games of all time.
It does so many things right...except for tripping! Aaagh, dumb idea.
I have always thought that Mario's moveset was a tribute to Ryu of Street Fighter. Fireball/ Hadouken, Spinning Punches/ Tetsu-maki-senpu-kaki, Coin uppercut/ Shoryuken. The parallel is awesome.

I wanted megaman in too, mainly the Battle Network megaman.
and Zero would be awesome to, but any Megaman would have been awesome.
The thing is, Nintendo was going to add Megaman,
They even made his model, but some thing happened so they did not do it for Brawl.
They might try again, but now the guy who makes the Megaman games left Capcom,
and Capcom pretty much seemed to have put Megaman a side with all the canceling of Megaman games, so it can go ether way.
I can't believe that Chibi-Robo was left out of Brawl - he's an amazing little guy and simply has to be in the next Smash Bros. game!
If Olimar got in, Chibi must be too, I say!

That reminds me,
When is Nintendo going to make another Pikemen game?!
I have not played Chibi-Robo though, I will have to look it up.
